Notch smiled and said "Good choice, Toxic. Now, my friends, I have a special gift to give each of you." Ranger looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"

"Each of you deserve a gift...and I will provide it as a thanks for joining the Hero Squad. Each of you will be presented with a cloak, and I will gift those somethings to you myself."

A collective murmur went through the Hero Squad as Notch pulled several cloaks out of a small space behind his throne. He walked to stand in front of Blaze.

Blaze took the cloak and studied it. It was black, with ornate silver designs running down the cowl. A silver clasp held the cloak in place, and it was branded with an H-S, which she presumed stood for Hero Squad.

"Blaze, daughter of the Blaze King. I present to you the thing you desire most...a heart." Suddenly, Blaze heard a faint beat within her chest. She put a hand to her chest and felt it.

How she had longed to feel that beat once more...

Notch moved to the next person in line, which was Wolf. She took the cloak and unfolded it, revealing the designs. Notch grinned. "Wolf, sister of Herobrine. I present to you Herobrine's obsidian dagger. It may have been used in a terrible way, but I trust you will use it well."

He moved to the next person, Toxic. He smiled. "Toxic...you need no fancy title. I present to you, the best gift you could ever recieve..." Toxic turned when she heard soft footsteps.

Her heart almost leapt out of her chest. "DAD!" She cried, and ran to him, embracing him in a hug that contained all the love she had held inside that she had not been able to convey.

Notch moved to the next Squad member, Ranger. "Ranger, daughter of the Champion Warrior of the End...my gift to you is one that I hope you will enjoy." Suddenly, an End Portal popped up.

Slowly, as if not daring to believe it, she stepped inside, and was immediately transported to the End. Her jaw dropped and her eyes teared up as she saw it. It was whole, undestroyed. Endermen moved across the enormous island. Notch had restored the End.

Barely able to make it through the portal again, she looked at Notch when she came back through. That single look was enough, and Notch smiled before moving to the next member.

"Pro...you need no special title either. You are an inspiration to all who wish justice and peace upon Minecraftia. I present to you a gift I feel will be met with open arms."

A rather large box appeared on the floor, and Pro knelt beside it, opening it slowly. A high-pitched meow came from inside the box. Pro's eyes widened and she quickly pulled a pure white kitten from the box.

Pro couldn't keep herself from crying a little. "Thank you." She whispered. Ranger smiled sadly. Pro had recently lost a white cat named Pearl, and it had devastated her.

A certain someone had mentioned the fact to Notch.

He moved to the next person, Dave. "Dave...you need no fancy title. You are brave, braver than any knight I have seen. I present to you a gift that I hope is worthy."

Notch produced a shield from thin air. Dave took it and glanced at the engravings, which pictured a Nether Portal, a Ghast, and a fireball. He grinned. "Thank you." He breathed, running a hand over the engraving.

Notch took a deep breath and moved to the last member. "Steph...I know you lost a friend when Herobrine was banished. I know I cannot replace that friendship, but I hope that by presenting this gift to you, I can help."

He handed her a small button, which she immediately pressed. "Hello, Steph." She whirled around to see a blue hologram of Herobrine watching her, a small grin on his lips.

"He will speak and act the way he did before." Notch said, and Steph turned. Suddenly, Notch was engulfed in a hug. Startled, he didn't move for a moment, then wrapped his arms around Steph in turn.

She whispered "Thank you." Notch grinned and let her go, still holding her shoulders. "You feel alone, he'll be there at the push of a button." Ranger was trying VERY hard to hold back tears. She smiled.

"There's no place like home."

And thus was the end of The Herobrine Quest.

Or was it?...

From a darkened alcove by the double doors, two figures watched.

"Sir..." The man began, but he was cut off by the shadowed figure. "Don't speak a word. I know exactly what you're going to say." The man nodded slightly and moved away.

The shadowed figure went into his own little world. "So...Notch has gotten this desperate." A dark chuckle. "What an ignorant fool." He spat. The man stayed silent.

"He refuses to acknowledge us? Very well then..." The shadowed figure grinned. At the sight of it, the man shuddered. "...if it's war he wants, it's war he shall receive."
