The jet eventually comes to a land, and after all that catching up the last thing to do is settle in. Samantha looked out the window and watched as the men came and brought up a stairway for them to get down with. Samantha looked at the paved over land. She was back.
She smiled for a moment remembering all the good times, but almost immediately taking it away remembering her more recent times that she was last in New York. Of course she had heard about the many things that had happened since then, not by herself but her roommate and friends. She had tended to avoid anything about the state. Suddenly Virginia spoke up causing her to snap out of her doze.
"You alright there Sam?" Virginia asks as Samantha gets up slowly, swinging her backpack in the seat over on her shoulder.
"I'm fine, I just can't believe I'm back." Samantha says and looks at Virginia who looks a little sad but give a soft smile.
"Well then let's get moving, what do you want to see first?" Virginia asks as the door at the front of the plane opens. Both of them slowly walking out. Samantha's eyes burn at first causing her to squint. Her eyes fix and she looks out to see all the buildings in the distance.
'Here I go.' She thinks and walks down the steps, thinking about Virginia's question.
"Let's see who I will be working for first then you can show me the apartment." Samantha says and Virginia almost looks nervous. She knew that she could not keep his name from her forever, and the fact that the chance they would just happen to be the same person is one out of a million, so Virginia gave a small smile and shrugged it off.
Samantha was excited to have a new start, even if it was in old memory ridden place. She returned the smile and they kept walking Samantha picking up her suit cases on the way.
As they entered the black car that had been awaiting them Samantha took out the old journal she had not written in forever. The vehicle started moving and she turned to another random page.
Dear Jurnal, Entry 10
I love this jurnal so much, thank you so much for keeping my thoughts hidden from the world. Today was mostly good, mom made me grilled cheese for dinner. I wasn't too annoyed with Tony today he kept to his friends most of the day. Plus we had a test and I aced it! But over all it was a great day!
Samantha's smile returned as she read the words on the page. It was good to know that she had not forgotten the good days to write about as well.
Glossing over about 10 more pages Samantha realized that a new start here would be ok. She may have had troubles in the past but with the help of her friend Virginia it would be perfectly fine.
After a long car ride of chatting and catching up the last little bit that the two girls didn't get to do on the plane the car jolted to a stop.
"Miss Pots, we have arrived." The driver says and Virginia and Samantha both open their doors stepping out of the car.
Samantha looked at the building in awe. It look almost... Could it be formiliar? No. She could not possibly recognize this building. Virginia had said that the building is 5 years old. Yet something about it just seemed to spark a lost memory.
Virginia poked Samantha's shoulder bringing her back to the realization that she had stood looking at the building for probably 2 minuets.
"You ok?" Virginia asks and Samantha blushes in embarresment. Smiling Samantha nods and they walk inside.
