"Just a drop in the ocean, a change in the weather..."

"Lauren why are we going to the beach? It's almost 9!" Camila said whining in the passenger seat of Lauren's car.

"Because I want to, Camz." Lauren giggled as she drove down the road. Camila rolled her eyes and looked out the window.

"Lauren there has to be another reason besides that you simply "want to." You don't like to move past 8:30 at points." The younger brunette exclaimed as she continued to look out the window. Lauren sighed and looked over at the younger girl.

"There is Camz but I can't tell you until we get there." The older girl explained, turning her focus back to the road. The two sat in silence for a moment as Lauren could feel Camila's gaze on her.

"Ok...but can you at least explain how you got your car from Miami and how you were able to sneak us out of our hotel?" Camila asked breaking the silence. A smirk formed at Lauren's lips as she processed the questions.

"My dad drove it down here when came up a couple days ago and well...Normani owes me a favor and is covering for us." Lauren spoke as realization came across her best friend's face. Right came a smile upon the young girl's lips.

"Lauren Michelle Jauregui, I do believe you are breaking about 10 of Allyson's rules." Camila smirked as Lauren let out a giggle.

"Yup!" Lauren replied happily.

"And to make even worse ladies and gentlemen it was all for going to the beach!" Camila laughed out as she looked over at Lauren.

"The beach is the only place where we can see the stars though, Camz!" Lauren whined childishly letting out a laugh.

"Ah ha! The truth comes out!" Camila exclaimed in excitement.

"NO! That's just a bonus!" Lauren smirked over at the deflating brunette. Lauren let out a victorious laugh and pulled into the beach parking lot. There had been a light rain that had going on all day, but one look at the sky now you would have never known. Lauren got out of the car first and rushed over to open the younger girl's door.

"Why thank-you my LoLo!" Camila spoke as she stepped out of the car. Lauren then shut the door and went around to the trunk to open it. Once opened she retrieved a blanket and picnic basket then closed the trunk. Camila looked over at her with excitement upon seeing the basket and Lauren blushed slightly. The older brunette walked over to the younger one and took her hand in her own. Camila looked up a tad confused but Lauren ignored it as she dragged the girl towards the sand and ocean.

"I was praying that you and me might end up together..."

Lauren's palms began to sweat lightly as she led Camila to a spot in the sand. There she let go of her the girl's hand and laid out the blanket on the ground before plopping down. Camila looked down at her, still somewhat confused as she took her place on the blanket. That look however quickly vanished as the older girl pulled a huge jar of Nutella with strawberries and pretzels.

"Is this a bribe, Ms. Jauregui? Did you not think I would stay long?" Camila joked as she took a pretzel and dipped it in the Nutella. Lauren's blush became a shade redder as she turned her gaze to the ocean.

"Well, I thought that since I can only drive that you would have to stay...but then I also remembered that you are quite smart and would probably find a way back, unless I brought food." Lauren admitted looking at the younger girl with a sheepish smile.

"Aww Lauren!! I wouldn't run away from you! Even if you didn't bring food, your my LoLo bear!" Camila smiled then leaned over to give her best-friend a hug. Lauren froze in her best friend's embrace, unsure of exactly how to respond. Hesitantly though, she wrapped her arms around the young girl. Lauren's face taking on Camila's soft locks as she buries her head in her shoulder.

The older girl takes in the smell of the younger girl's coconut shampoo and instantly melts within it. If Lauren could, she would never leave this embrace; she would live forever in this moment. She knew though that she couldn't; there were words to be said.

"Hey Camz, I need to tell you something.." Lauren spoke nervously as she released the girl. Camila looked at her with a curious/ concerned look.

"Is it about the reason while we're here, Lauren?" Camila asked slowly. Lauren nodded her head and adverted her gaze to the ocean.

"I wanted to go to a place that had openness, there was no way that I could breathe in our hotel room." Lauren said looking at a crashing wave before turning to stare into Camila's worried eyes.

"Lauren..." Camila was cutoff.

"Camila I have had these growing feelings for you since we first met at boot camp." Lauren said looking into Camila's now shocked expression.

"You were just there...you just showed up and said "hi," and that was enough. It was like my world stopped it's motion and I could see clearly." Lauren explained with a small smile. She then took the younger girl's hands in her own.

"You were lifeboat as titanic was sinking, Camz. You have kept me afloat through everything and I've been wanting to tell you how I felt for awhile. I just needed to find a moment where things could just be about..us. Not Fifth Harmony, us." Lauren said scooting closer to the now tearful girl.

"Lauren...I just don't-" Camila was once again caught off but it was her own choosing as Lauren grew closer to her. The poor brunette knew what's going to happen and is terrified by it.

"It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the dessert..."

Lauren leaned in her head as the younger girl took in a short gasp before their lips connected. Camila didn't expect the sparks that came from the kiss, she didn't expect them at all, and it scared her. She the gently pushed away and turned away from the older girl. Lauren looked back at the ocean again, wishing that maybe the rain could come back. Camila loved the way it rain down her hair and the smell it left when it left. The ocean just couldn't bring that right now.

"But I'm holding you closer than most, because you are my heaven."

Lauren looked at the ocean for the longest time; praying to God that somehow it could become rain.

"La-lauren..." Camila stuttered as she wrapped her arms around herself. The girl wasn't cold however, she just needed the closure.

"Yes Camz..." Lauren said looking back at Camila. She noticed that she was shivering so she took off her jacket and wrapped around the girl's shoulders.

"Thanks..." Camila whispered as she silently regretted opening her mouth.

"Camila...I'm so sorry that I kissed you." Lauren said now tearing up. Camila looked over to the girl and felt helpless on what to do. She didn't want to her best friend to hurt but confusion was all that she felt at the moment.

"I shouldn't have done that, I should just take you back to the hotel." Lauren said starting to get up. As if by instinct the younger girl reached out and hugged her best friend. Camila let out a whimper as she felt the older girl freeze in her embrace. Slowly though, the older girl wrapped her arms around the younger girl; she resumed the position she was in earlier.

"Camz..." Lauren was cutoff by Camila

"No...don't say anything..." Camila whispered as she let tears roll down her cheeks. Lauren obeyed and just kept quiet, snuggling closer into Camila. The older girl taking in the embrace that will probably be their last for awhile.
