This isn't going to be a story or a short response of an event that might take place. No, this is for a very special birthday girl that is turning 17 tomorrow. Yes everyone on May 31st, 1996 Normani Hamilton was born to the world. So in order to celebrate it properly I've decided to post a song that I wrote for Normani as a little present to her. Please everyone that reads this share this to as many people as possible so Normani can read this. I love these girls so much and Normani is such a sweet heart! I really just want her to know that I love her to pieces.

Thank-you for the Dance

The lights were starlike on the ballroom floor

Or at least that's what they appeared to look like from the opening door.

Masks and Gowns flowed through the starlight

With white suits and black ties following close behind.

The masquerade was in full swing

but sadly I dared to go alone.

So as I stood there in my floor length gown, looking at the scene.

Gloom and Loneliness set in as time quickly ticked by

I swear if I was Cinderella I would have surely been striked down by the queen!

My mood started to change when my favorite song began to play!

The lyrics wrote out my worries,

taking them away!

I ran onto the starlight sky and danced through the night!

Who gives a damn if I didn't have a prince in sight?

Listen up negativity, it's time to take a chance and say

"Thank you for the Dance!"

I saw out of the corner of my eye

a princess on her knees.

Tears were running down her cheeks with mascara acting as rain.

I walked over and bent down to whisper

"What is the cause behind the rain that is flooding over your fears?"

She looked up and with a simple glance I saw what was causing her pain.

"He isn't your prince tonight my love.

How could he if this is the example he becomes?"

I took her hand in mine and helped her to her feet.

She smiled and looked over to stars

as I guided her to the stage.

Her mood started to change when her favorite song began to play!

The lyrics wrote out her worries,

taking them away!

We ran onto the starlight sky and danced through the night!

Who gives a damn if we didn't have a prince in sight?

Listen up sensitivity, it's time to take a chance and say

"Thank you for the Dance!"

We gathered all the fallen princesses across the land and guided them to the starlight floor.

Song after song filled the air as people started moving to the beat

Why did the fairytales ever say that we needed a prince to ador?

Why can't we have a happily ever after without tripping over our feet!

Tonight is proof that we could do it on own.

So to all the ladies out there crying over the phone,

Come put your ball gowns on and take a chance on the starlight sky

I promise it'll be ok you just have to believe you can fly!

The mood started to change when the music started to play!

The lyrics wrote out the worries,

taking them away!

Run onto the starlight sky and dance through the night!

Who gives a damn if we don't have prince in sight?

Listen up to all the ladies, it's time to take a chance and say

"Thank you for the Dance!"

"Love exists in many forms, my friend, even though it's not in the form of a lover. It can come in the forms of a hug from a friend, protection of a brother, or even a gentle word from a stranger. It is God's gentlest of imbraces, that reminds you of the worth you mean to all. So with the greatest of love, my friend, I wish you as much as you can handle."

I love you, Normani :) Happy Birthday Sweet-Heart!
