Fernando was sitting comfortably crossed-legged in his sweats and tee shirt on the edge of his bed, holding a pack of popcorn as he waited for the movie to start. It was late but he honestly didn't care since he got to spend some time with his old friend. Mark had decided to come over for one of their old movie nights and he'd brought the cheesiest movie ever. Ted. They'd done many television series marathons and movie nights back when Mark had still been in Formula 1. It had been their thing until he left for Le Mans.
Mark flopped down beside Nando, lying back on his elbows as he stretched to steal a handful of the caramel popcorn goodness that is Garretts' earning a small glare from the Spaniard. He grinned cheekily and sat back upright, popping a kernel in his mouth.
They were a good fifteen minutes into the movie when a series of loud knocks sounded on the hotel room door.
At first, Fernando thought nothing of it.
"Probably some drunk that's got the wrong room." Mark commented, eyes never leaving the screen of the telly.
The knocking continued.
Fernando let out sigh, handing the popcorn to Mark, which he happily accepted, chomping down on more, earning a cuff in the head from Fernando, before getting off the bed and walking to the door.
He peered through the peephole and, to his surprise, found Max pacing up and down the hallway looking utterly distressed outside.
He unlocked the door and swung it open, startling the poor boy.
"Max?"
"I think I did something I'll regret Fer." He cut in worriedly, his eyes a frantic bright blue mess.
Fernando moved aside and ushered him inside, shutting the door behind him. Max seemed a bit surprised by Mark's presence but nonetheless politely dipped his head in greeting.
"Evening Max." Mark chirped through snd mouthful of popcorn and paused the movie.
"What happened?" Fernando asked, standing before the boy who was twiddling his thumbs nervously as he sat in the armchair, worrying his lip raw.
"I kissed Ava."
Mark blinked and exchanged a look with Fernando that said that's-it? to which he shrugged.
"Okay... So?" He tried slowly, not quite understanding Max's supposedly predicament.
Max looked up at him, appalled.
"So? IT WAS HER FIRST KISS." He waved his arms around in a flustered manner. Mark raised an eyebrow.
"Shouldn't you be happy then mate? I thought you liked her?" He asked.
"I do. But she has a boyfriend back home doesn't she? And to think I stole her first kiss. It probably should've been him!" Max exclaimed.
"She has a boyfriend?" Mark asked, curiously looking at Fernando
"I never knew." Fernando shrugged.
"Well she does and I might have just completely ruined our friendship and everything else!" He huffed, holding his head in his hands. Maybe he was overreacting...
