"Hey mom," I chirp as I walk through the door.

"How was the ceramony?" She questions.

"Good, the team didnt win anything thiugh," I say trying to sound upset.

"I bet you looked beautiful,"

"Thanks mom," I say as I walk up the stairs.

My phone buzzes and rings with excitement. I quickly plug it in and check my messages.

"What happened to dance, cross country, and lacrosse. You can still have all those things. Think about it, you're not that hard to read, I think I'll understand." The name saids Ben and I nearly drop the phone because I'm so surprised.

"Its gone," I say back. In a seprate text I said, "They went with the snow."

"Maybe we'll have a freak snow storm," Bens message chimes.

"I wish but I'm not mother nature."

"It's your life, you have controll. Call me sometime Mother Nature."

I don't reply to his, but let the words sink in.

"You up for another party?" Abby asks through her text.

I let the text flow through my mind and circle around my brain. I overcomw my want to say 'yes' and quickly text back, "Can't."

She replies with a frowny face and I know she wants an explanation, but I don't give her one. Instaed I change into my lacrosse clothse, grab my stick and run out the door into the car. The surprising chill shocks me and I sink into the car quicker. I shoot over quickly to Jenna's house and honk my horn twice. she runs out, her auburn hair trailing behindher in a ponytail, and her bay eyes wiped clean of any makeup she might have worn. She throws her stick in the back and hops into the front, "Ready?" I ask.

"Yeah, I'm really exited to play with you again. It's been so long!"

"I know, I've been distracted for some reason. So, I was thinking about doing crosss country next year. I kinda wanna get back into my normal life."

"Really!" Jenna squeels with exitment. I'm going to too! I wanna make next year the best year ever! I mean it is senior year, why live it with regret!?" Jenna has always been a perky person. Being around her has always made me happier. "So, on Monday I was thinking about going to Pats for lunch, wanna tag along?"

"I would love to, as long your not just using me for Betsy," I joke back.

"And Betsy is..."

"The car," I say with slight sarcasm. We laugh and cackle as I pull into the park.

"Did you feel the chill, I have good news," I text to Ben.

"I did, what?" He asks. I can just imagine his curiosity through the phone.

"I'm going to do cross country and possibly dace next year."

"Thats great, I'm really proud of you." His text reads, and a smile lights up across my face.

"There's one down side, it leaves less time for us to hangout." I type in as a slight smirk spreads across my face.

"That's true but as long as your happy..." He saids. I can tell he cares but every time I begin to trust someone they break my heart.

"Maybe we can take it slow?"

"Of course, whatever you need." He replies quickly.

I smile as I walk down the stairs into the kitchen
