Chapter One
Jade's pov

Five years. That's how long Leondre has been away for. One thousand eight hundred and twenty one days we've been apart. The first few months were impossible. I couldn't sleep without him. I barely left my room. But as the months passed it became easier. The pain was still there but I had to carry on. I started going back to school and living a normal life because I knew one day Leondre was going to come back and then I had to face who I truly was. What I truly was. I wasn't going to be half human and half werewolf, I was going to be a full werewolf once me and Leondre started and finished the mating process. The mating process, by what I was told in an embarrassing/awkward conversation with Victoria, is where two mates mark each other just in the crook of their neck and have sex. Or as Victoria said 'make love'. It doesn't matter what order you do it in. To be honest I'm scared to complete the mating process with him because one: I haven't seen him in years and two: I'm scared invade he looses it again like he did last time. I know he went to the boarding school so he learnt self-control but I'm scared incase he forgets and hurts me. What if he doesn't remember who I am? What if he has a girlfriend or another mate?My heart clenched at the thought that he's moved on whilst my inner wolf said he couldn't because he'd found us, his mate, already and wouldn't want to hurt us. What if he's changed into a cocky type of guy? What if I'm not good enough for him? Thought continuously ran threw my head. Negative thoughts about him, me and both of us as mates and future King and Queen. Will we be good enough rulers? What will the Kingdom be like? My wolf started howling in pain at the back of my mind. My wolf is called Kat.

(J=Jade, K=Kat)

J= What's wrong?
K= Leondre.
J= What about him?
K= He's hurt.
J= Where is he?
K= At school.
J= Wait, if he's at school then why is he hurt?
K= They're practicing in their wolf forms at fighting.
J= Oh, I thought you meant seriously hurt.
K= Sorry for caring about my mate.
J= Kat you know what I mean!
K= I'm sorry it's just I've not seen him for five years and I just want to be able to see him again, but every time I try talking to his wolf, Ryder, he shuts me out.
J= Kat, I'm sorry. On the bright side I heard Victoria and Antonio talking about his graduation this weekend.
K= Wait, if he's graduating that means that he's going to be home soon.
J= Yeah he will be.
K= So that means we can mate and...

And that's when I shut her out. Not being mean but sometimes she can get to inappropriate "Jade, Tilly can you come downstairs please!" Victoria shouted. For the last five years I've lived with Victoria, Antonio and Tilly. Antonio thought it would be better for me to get used to living with them because when Leondre comes back I would move to live with him for a year with his parents before we went to the Royal Kingdom, that and he wanted me to be used to werewolves before Leondre comes back so I wouldn't be scared of him. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. "Hey Jade, in the living room." Antonio said pointing to the living room. I laughed and grabbed a bottle of water and followed him into the living room, taking a seat next to Tilly whilst he and Victoria stood in front of us. "You might want to pack your bags because we're going on a ride trip!" Victoria squealed whilst me and Tilly did a funny dance. "Where we going?" Tilly asked. Antonio and Victoria looked at each other and gave me a guilty look. "We're of to Leondre's graduation which is in two days." Antonio said. Leondre's graduation. That means I'll be seeing him for the first time in five years. I sat back down trying to control my shaking hands. "Tilly can you go upstairs and stars packing?" Victoria asked her. "Yeah, how long are we going for?" She asked standing up and walking to the door. "Three days," Antonio replied "and we'll be staying at a hotel." Tilly nodded and ran upstairs. "Jade if you want to you can stay here or at Joey's." Victoria offered sitting next to me. I shook my head partially because Kat wouldn't shut up, she was just that excited, and I wanted to go. I mean I have to see him eventually so why not get it over with. "I want to go." I answered truthfully. She nodded and pulled me into a hug. "You can turn back anytime ok. We're proud of you no matter what." Antonio said joining the hug. "Now go get ready so we can leave early." Victoria said laughing and gently pushing me towards the door. I laughed and ran upstairs to my bedroom and started getting out my clothes. "Hey Jade do you have a spare suitcase I could use?" Tilly asked standing in the door way. I nodded and grabbed one from under my bed. "Here you go." I said handing her it. "Thanks." She replied walking away. I quickly, but neatly, put my clothes and shoes into my suitcase and grabbed my tooth brush, hair brush etc and put them into a wash bag. After putting them in I had to sit on the suitcase to close it. Once that was done I sat on my bed thinking of Leondre, and us reuniting.
