Chapter 9: Filling Ruby in

Then it hit me that the weekend was over, after I hung out with Killian for another hour, I headed home.
Me and Killian didn't have a lot of classes together, but every day I stayed after school to watch his football practice.
When I got home my dad had a beer in his hands and another on the table, "hi sweetie" he slurred.
"Hi dad."
Why in the world was he drunk?
"Hey... I just thought you should know that I don't like him. He's bad."
Who's bad?
"Who?"
"Your lover boy!"
I rub my eyes and go upstairs to my room, my phone buzzes.

Hi....
I can't tell him that my dad doesn't like him, it could crush his heart! I'll find a better time!

Okay, I was just checking in real quick, nothing was hurting...😘
And I'll see you at school tomorrow.

  Before I climbed into bed, I set the alarm on my phone, right before it rang.
  "Hey, Emma!"
"Hi Ruby...."
    "Someone's throwing a party this Saturday and you NEED to come! It's supposed to be the party of the year and if you want you can bring Killian!"
"Okay cool, we'll come!"
  "Speaking of you and Killian, have you guys, uhh you know."
"Yes we had sex."

    "OMG! When?!!"
I groaned and my noisy best friend but answered, "Right after he met my dad."
She laughed into the phone for what seemed like forever and then finally replied, "So right after daddy asks if you guys are doing it, you go and do it!"
  I scoffed at her, "If it helps it was the first time! It was like celebrating my father approving of my boyfriend!"
  I was scared for what her next question could be, but I knew I'd have to answer it wether I wanted to or not.
"Was it fun?"
   I Blush at her tone, "yes..." I giggle into the phone.
"When you gonna do it again?"
    "Soon I hope..."
  "Well, I should head to bed, night Ems!"
   "Night."
