Tuesday

Two days since Tony showed up, two days until he takes me out. I stretched out in my bed, squinting as I made a sort of muffled moan sound. I kicked out my legs only to feel like I had been kicked back. I sat up slowly seeing a baby pink box at the end of my bed and a note taped to the top. I crawled over to the box and sat it in my lap. The note had Lorie written on the front in fancy with a kiss at the bottom of it. I blushed as I unfolded the note. It read:

Dear Lorie,
This Thursday I will be taking you out to dinner, to one
of the finest restaurants in Florida. I want you to be ready at 9pm
and I want you to wear this dress with these shoes and jewellery.
~Tony x

My cheeks burned from the inside out as I set aside the note and lifted the lid. There were three layers of red tissue paper and the box smelt like roses. I rummaged through the tissue paper and lifted out a little red dress. It was simple and thin strapped with a small golden locket and red, swede heels. It was a truly beautiful lay out.
"Looks like Mike is treating you well." I heard in the doorway. My body jolted to the direction of the voice. Jason was resting against my bedroom door frame with a bowl of cornflakes in one and and a spoon in the other. I held up the dress, almost in tears.
"Yes...he does." I agreed in a soft tone. No longer did I care for what Jason or Josh believed, I only cared about Tony because he cared for me.
"So, has he asked you on a date yet?" Jason asked, and that's when I came up with a brilliant plan.
"As a matter of fact, he has. This Thursday at 9pm...I need you two out of the trailer for the night, okay?" I asked, packing the outfit back in the box. I placed the box under my bed to keep it safe.
"Sure, I can do that. Just use protection." He agreed, pointing at me with the spoon in his hand as he chewed on his cereal.
"Get out!" I screamed at him, throwing my pillow at him in the process but completely missing. I buried my head in my hands, squealing from the happiness inside.
I rose from the bed and waddled over to the bathroom, locking the door behind me and pulling the light chain. The light flickered a few times before coming on properly but it didn't affect me. I smiled to myself before turning on the hot tape and running a cloth under it.
"Lorie, I think it's time to step up your game and impress Mr. Perry." I whispered to myself, smiling into the mirror. I washed my face with the hot, wet cloth and brushed my hair thoroughly. I applied a little more mascara and some peachy lipstick on. My hair trailed down to the dimples in my lower back which I was sure Tony would like. I came out the bathroom, turning the light off and rummaging through my clothes. I found a black vest top and white, ripped jeans.
A little bare skin won't hurt anyone.

I made my way around the trailers, close to the stage. Sleeping with Sirens were performing so the majority of the people here were by the stage. My bare chest attracted more attention than I thought but all I could think about was where Tony was. I searched by the food court but he was no where to be seen, nor the other Pierce the Veil boys.
"Lorie!" I heard someone call from behind me. I was hopeful that it would be him but...it wasn't. It was Mike. He jogged over to me, shirtless and a Pepsi in his hand.
"Oh...hey Mike." I greeted, unenthusiastically. I bit my lip, trying to hide back the disappointment.
"Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for giving me those Harlow club tickets. There were only three but Tony offered to stay." He explained and I nodded. "Oh and they have the best whiskey on sale there in the whole of Florida." He concluded but realistically, I wasn't listening. I was too busy thinking about Tony.
"Hey, Mike? Where's everyone else? Like where's Jaime, Vic...Tony?" I asked trying not to sound overly bothered.
"They've all gone out to get some groceries for our tour bus. Vic had a midnight snack with Jaime, so now I'm making them pay for this weeks food." He explained and I nodded. "They'll be back a little later but we can hang if you want?" He offered and I nodded again.
"I'd like that." I smiled. We began to walk around the food court and mingle between the different trailers.
"So, how did you get to do the interviewing?" Mike asked.
"Well, I've always liked knowing people's stories, and as a kid I was always asking questions. I guess I was kind of annoying as a child." We both laughed. "I never usually tell people my story, mainly because...I'm always interested in theirs." I smiled at Mike as we sat at a bench near the PTV tour bus.
"So what is your story?" Mike asked, turning to me. I was silent for a moment before drawing a breath.
"Well...I-"
"Well if it isn't Lace-up Lorie!" Someone sang from a distance. I hadn't heard that name in years. When I turned around to see who called me, my face dropped.
Chloe Danilo.
Thin, blonde hair, thin legs, a stomach flatter than paper and looks that could kill was what Chloe Danilo was made up of. She strutted towards me and Mike.
"How are you, darling?" She smirked, kissing my cheek and pretending to be my friend.
"I'm...fine?" I answered, screwing the bottom on my vest top up in my hands.
"It's been so long! We need to catch up darling!" She said. She was such a fakery. As she sat down between me and Mike, completely pushing us apart, her phone beeped twice. "Woops! Duty calls. I'll see you two later, lovely seeing you." She smiled, running off.
"Who or what was that?" Mike whispered to me in shock.
"Chloe Danilo..." I said, biting my lip trying to hold in my tears. As if my day couldn't get any worse, "she was my bully." I explained to Mike. There was an awkward silence between us before he spoke up.
"I'm sorry to hear that...do you want to talk about i-" he began before I cut him off.
"No!" I screamed at him, rising from the bench and pacing in front of him. My breathing quickened as I tried to relax my angry episode. I buried my head in my hands as I slowly calmed down, a habit that is becoming more apparent lately. "I'm sorry. I just don't want to talk about it. Or her." I explained calmly. I but my lip and bowed my head in shame. Mike reluctantly stood up and wrapped his arms around me as I held my tears in as hard as I could.
"Listen, you're beautiful. She's no one and will never be anyone. Just because she started a battle in the early years doesn't mean she's going to win in the end. And if you ask me...you've already won." He comforted and a single tear fell down my cheek. "Do you want to come in for a cup of tea?" He offered and I nodded, following him into the PTV tour bus.
