"We can't go through! There's no way we are ever going to make it!" A solider from behind Zayn yelled.
General Thomas, walks toward the lad behind Zayn, and forcefully grabs the collar of the recruit's uniform."Listen here soldier," He growls."You are going to make it-WE ALL ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!" General Thomas Yells.
"Yeah? But how do we know that?" Zayn questions."Anyone of us could go down today, so Caleb is right."
Zayn Malik. He stood out among most human beings, and not just because he questions everything, but because he was different.
He was a typical twenty-two years old. He consists of dark brunette hair, charming hazel eyes, and and the voice of an angel---which actually isn't normal for a man in the 1940's, but maybe one in the twenty-first century.
Zayn was different from everyone else, which was pretty obvious to the world, but to him he was just...himself.
Zayn wasn't normal at all, but who is? He could never play football, he barely went outside, he could never dance, or make new friends, but to him, none of that mattered.
Now you see, Zayn is in a very life threatening situation right now.
All of Britain is at war at the moment, and they were gathering as many young men as they could to help defend Britain. That meant thousands of men had to sacrifice their lives, for millions of people--it was absolutely terrible.
Zayn and his family, were stunned by the news. They didn't want him to go, including Zayn himself, but they had no choice. He had to go, according to the policy. Just a few days ago, Zayn was forced away from his three sisters, his father, and his beloved mother.
Zayn knew he would never see them again, yet he always had them on his mind 24/7, but always in his heart.
"Are you questioning me troop!?" General Thomas says with a strict risen voice.
Zayn felt like he was going to pass out at any second, but instead, he'd obey the general, and shook his head constantly."No sir! N-Not at all!" He stuttered.
"Then why were you in agreement with Collin over here!?"
Zayn's throat felt dry. All he could do, was shake and tremble in shock. He could here everyone whispering rude comments about him, and when he didn't answer General Thomas, those whispers soon turned into laughter. After about a few seconds, it was time to board their missions, and prepare for the worst. General Thomas, was called to base, and everyone else back to work.
All the young RAF pilots, and recruits mumbled a few words to Zayn while passing him, which he ignored, but the next three words would run through his head, forever.
"You are Pathetic."

Zayn's POV
It's now a quarter past ten, and I am currently preparing my plane, for take off. Me and fifty other military recruits are flying over German soils tonight, and I am scared to death.
This is one of the most dangerous things I have ever done in my life...forget that! This is the only thing! I'm not ready for this! I'm only twenty-two, and I still have a whole glorious life ahead of me!
I have already seen hundreds of our men go down, and I do not want to be another one added to that depressing list of 'Lost Soldiers'
