Chapter 1: The Morning

It was a rainy morning, it was about 6am.. I was woken by my growling stomach. I decided to take a walk through town hoping someone left some food sitting around or in a trash can, but unfortunately there was none. I was so hungry, that my whole body felt completely empty I never ate in about 3 days, I felt so clumsy and nauseous that I had to sit down, so I walked over to the curve and sat down. I closed my eyes for a minute to stop my head from spinning, I began to doze off..

6hours later...

I woke up on the side of a curve, the first thing that caught my eye was a trash can full of food. I got up and headed towards it, when I finally got there it felt like I hit the jackpot, I was so thankful that I had food... I started to eat the food from the trash can really fast like a kid that never ate in days well, actually I never ate in days. All of a sudden a grey jeep pulled up beside me and a strange girl opened the car door, and started to walk towards me .. She asked "Do you have a home sweetie? Why are you eating out of a trash can? I work with child services I can help you." I looked at her with bright eyes "No, I've been living on the streets for 3 years and no one has ever asked me if I was okay." She picked me up, with tears in her eyes and said " come on sweetie ill get you a good home I promise you. Do you have a name love?"  I replied "Yes my name is Abby" as she sat me in her jeep and buckled me in.

A place to stay..

We arrived at this huge building, with lots of children outside playing and laughing.. She said " my name is Leanne I promise here they will take care of you until we find you a safe permanent home or get ahold of some of your family members." I said terrified "are you sure I'm safe here?" She giggled " of course .. Lets go in!" I followed her , tugging on her shirt scared to death.. I was not comfortable here because I was always on the streets not in a nice warm place filled with laughter. A tall girl with long brown hair .. walked up to Leanne and asked "Is she staying here? " She sounded like she was disgusted.. Leanne replied " yes of course " the tall girl passed Leanne a piece of paper and said " sign this with all of her information and bring it back to me" Leanne replied " yes, but one thing.. Abby is scared, and is not used too a big house or even a house at all I found her on the streets, so take good care did her." The tall girl said " everyone is treated great here, you have no worries at all. Follow me Abby ill show you your new room " I followed her while passing several doors we finally reached a dark brown door, she opened it and said " here it is, if u make a mess you clean it and bed time is at 10pm and breakfast at 8." I replied shocked " okay I understand " .

Looking around my room, I see a big closet filled with clothing, and a small single bed facing towards a big window, and a laptop at the end of the bed with a mini radio next to it. As I sit down on the bed the springs dig in my butt. I scream loudly " OUCHHHH!!!" And then I hear a scream from don't the hall " SHUT THE HELL UP".. I giggle under my breath, I was so happy that I now had my own room, matter of fact I was so happy that I even had a house to live in, it felt absolutely amazing. I felt important for once.
