"You're such a gentle man." I smiled and tried hard to put on a seductive expression. He was handsome after all and I needed someone in my life, so bad, I was willing to take any guy. Yes!, my standards dropped so low, I even dated an over-weight, alcoholic and unemployed guy last week! I am not saying, I despise over-weight people, but alcoholic AND unemployed, just didn't make the best impression. But this week, DateMe.com, actually made a good match. Handsome, earns enough money, not too much and not too little, well dressed and was a real gently man? This must be a dream! And indeed it was....my alarm suddenly went on, blasting out, Beyoncè's Single ladies, right next to my ears. I rolled over to the wall, trying to block my ears with my pillow, but it seemed, it was getting even louder, so I rolled back facing the window and slowly opened one eye. It seemed as if it was yelling at me, but I just smiled and closed my eyes, trying to enjoy my date. After a few seconds, I suddenly opened both my eyes, trying to figure out what time it was today. I reached out for my alarm clock, threw it down, which made it stop, and reached out for my phone instead. I unlocked the screen and starred at it for a bit. A few missed calls....then I realized...It was 10a.m. on Monday! I quickly stood up and rushed into the bathroom, next door, panicking and repeating "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" It took me about five minutes to get ready and out I was, rushing to get a taxi to arrive at the office, before my boss noticed. But as I arrived, he was waiting at my desk, angry. "You're fired!" was all he yelled and walked away. I'm done! I said to myself, slowly walking towards my desk. I sat down for a bit, thinking of how I will manage to pay my rent this month and then slowly walked towards my ex-co-worker, who's office was right next to mine. He was pretending to not be aware of the situation. "Do you have a spare box I could use?" I asked, looking at my shoes. I was ashamed of myself and knowing that the whole office witnessed me getting fired, made it worse. He stood up and stood right in front of me. I looked at him, he was so gorgeous looking, tall, muscular built, well-dressed, well-mannered, kind, EVERYTHING I was looking for in a guy, but....he was gay.

The first day I started working at this office, he was the first to approach me, since every other worker, had already labelled me as the weird and odd one out. With his calm voice he asked my name and introduced himself as Kellen and his friends to me, from that most of them started distancing themselves from us and until today, I don't even know why. After being around him for the first few days and mistaking his kindness for love, I started having a crush on him, but it only lasted for about a month, after one of my friends mentioned he was seeing a guy she knew and then saying he is gay. I had so much luck, that she told me, because I was about to confess to him and probably ruined our friendship forever.

He smiled at me and grabbed both my shoulders. "Hey, heads up Bambi. You'll be fine." He said. "Everybody wants a peace of your fairytale, princess." He then added and gave me a big hug. By the way, my friends, the few that I have, nick named me Bambi, apparently because of my clumsiness. "Bambi is not a princess." I mumbled into his shoulder. He let go of me and went back to his desk. "If you want I can take you home, together with all your stuff. I'll be having my break time soon anyway. What do you think?" He started typing in his computer. "Don't worry, just give me a box and I be out of this sh*t hole." I tried cursing to feel better, but he just slowly turned around to me. "Did you just curse?" My friends and family, say that one of my characteristics are, the ability to not be able to curse and to stumble over air. "I said, I will drive you, just hold on for another five minutes and I will be ready." He smiled and went back to his work. I went back to my desk, sat down and started playing with the keyboard. I suddenly felt like five minutes were hours, but then I saw someone leaning against my office wall, smiling. "So you're finally out?" It was Jessica.

I was declared her enemy after rumors broke out, I was dating a former co-worker she had a crush on every since she started working. But then he quit his job, because of me (at least that's what he said) and no one has heard or seen from him since. And now, she is blaming me for not have taken the chance of asking him out back then. I understand that people try to blame others for their loss or stupidity, but it certainly was not my fault for her not getting to ask him out. I told her I have only spoken one word with him and that was, because I accidentally stumbled over and spilled out his coffee all over his suit and all he said was "God damn, is stumbling and making other people's life harder the reason you exist?" and walked off. I didn't even get to say sorry, but for the rest of the day, I remained in my office, crying and avoiding people noticing me, but the only person who was there was Kellen, giving my tissues and words of advise. He too had gone through a lot, so his advises seemed best fitting.

I looked up to her and smiled. "Yes I am. But I hope to see you again, so keep me updated about you." She simply walked away and I was back to where I was. Pretending to be happy and nice to people who'd do anything to see me fail. Yes, that's what my life is all about. I continued pressing random buttons on the keyboard, when suddenly my ex-boss stood behind me. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" He yelled in my ears. I immediately stood up. "I....I.....I was.....about...to....." My heart was racing. His face had gone red. "I thought, I had fired you?" His voice had calm down a bit, but still in an unfriendly tone. Kellen suddenly came to my rescue. "I'm sorry, I told her to wait a few minutes, so I can drive her home. She has no box, so I thought I should give her a hand." His soft voice calmed down my heart. My ex-boss then slowly took a deep breath. "I don't care if she has no box or no transport fair, I want her out of here! A good for nothing! Why did I even hire you?....And also, you don't have a box? A simply box? Where did all the money I paid you go? You can't even afford appropriate clothing for this work place anyway." He walked away. I was done. I couldn't take it in any longer and just sat on the floor and started crying. Kellen came to me and rubbed my back. "Wow, he still has the guts to say that? You could sue him for that, you know? Try make money out of him and also revenge. I would be honoured to be a witness for you." I stood up and wiped away my tears, as usual. " I'm fine. Let's get going, before your break is over and I would either have to stay a little longer or walk home by myself." I grabbed a few of my belongings and walked out of the office. Kellen came a few minutes after me, with my other belongings. I had been waiting by his car, getting rid of all the negative words I had heard today. This was a new start for me, exactly what I needed. Kellen opened his car and dumbed all the stuff inside. "So, I hope that was all. If I find your other belongings or you remember anything, just give me a call and I'll be at your place in a bit." He smiled and got into the car. I too dumped my stuff at the back sit and enter the front. I had suddenly noticed, that his car had gotten a fresher and sweeter scent. "Wow, your car smells quite nice, what scent is it?" He looked at me, smiled and looked back to the road. "I'm glad you asked! I didn't know, if it was still a good idea to tell you after what had happened. I originally planned on telling you in the morning, but you came late and you didn't pick up your phone, so, I couldn't prevent that from happening. Plus, all the other times, it was me who told the old man, to not fire you and trust me is was quite hard to find reasons for you to stay and convince him. But who knew saying, you're the first person to be dumbed all the shitty works, made him think about it? I guess, he'll have to find a new person to do it all." He stopped and seemed to be thinking. "Oh where was I again? Ah yes, the car scent. Well, you see, people need people in life, not just for business, but romantically as well. So I decided to go hunting for a partner, since, c'mon I'm 25! I won't stay forever young. So, as I said, I'm seeing somebody now." He was super exited, but I wasn't. Not that I wasn't for him, but for myself. It reminded me of my dream and Prince Charming, the perfect Guy. But here it was, the cold and dark reality, where I am still single and a virgin with 21 and with no job! He looked over to me and looked back to the street. "Oh, I shouldn't have said that. I'm so so sorry Bambi." He stopped the car in from of a red traffic light. "No no, I'm sorry. I am super happy and exited for you, really." I smiled and gently punched him in his arm, but he seemed to not be convinced. "Are you sure? Ah! I know what! Today, cancel out all your appointments, you'll meet Cupid!" He took his hand of the steering and took my hand. "I'll find you Mr. Right." His voice sounded really exited. "Forget it, I've tried hard enough, it just won't work for me. There is no Mr. Right for me or Prince Charming." I took away my hand and leaned towards the window. He grabbed the steering and continued driving. We were almost at my place. "It's because you're doing it wrong my dear. You don't Photoshop hard enough, nor do you write the right things, to catch a real man's attention. I'll help you with that." He seemed to love his idea. His phone suddenly rang and he picked it up, with the loud speaker on. "Hey, I just wanted to make sure our date is set for tonight, you haven't forgot have you?" it was a male voice on the other side of the phone. Kellen bent to the left and stopped the car, we had arrived. He then slowly looked over to me, with a sense of guilt in his eyes. "It's okay, how about tomorrow then?" I smiled. His face brightened up. "That's fine with me. Or how about, you send me some of your pictures and I'll make an account for you. Just send them right after you get home and I'll do it til tomorrow and we can go through it afterwards?" I nodded and got off the car. "Hello?" The man on the other side of the phone seemed to be confused. "I'm sorry Honey, I'm with my best friend right now, just hold on a bit. So, get some pictures ready and I'll get it done." I nodded again. "See you tomorrow and have a nice date." I shouted from the distance. He waved and then drove off.
