"So you are saying you are not likeable to the students?", Scarlett said as she got out of the bus.
"It's not that. It's more complicated. There are people who like me, and people who don't. That's all.", Olivia said. "You'll get it when school starts. After you.", she continued and let Scarlett go first.
Scarlett hadn't looked around, but once she stepped her foot on the road, she heard a lot of people talking and a wave of heat, because she couldn't move.
There were a lot of people talking and laughing. Some of them were very happy, others were serious. About a hundred people were sitting on the floor, while a bit less were standing. They were formed in groups. A boy had a guitar and a lot of them were singing.
"What the fuck..?", Scarlett asked shocked.
"Yes, we are a lot after summer holidays. But you'll get used to it."
"How big is the upcoming bus?"
"It can't fit as all, lol. It can hold about fifty people."
"But.. we are a bit more.."
"Try a lot more, Starlett."
"Actually it's Scarlett."
"More buses are coming after the first one.", Olivia continued, like she didn't hear Scarlett.
"Okay.."
As the two girls were walking away from the road, most of the people were waving and calling Olivia's name. Some girls were staring at her with a killer look, while others were looking with wide eyes and an admiring look. Some of the boys were looking a lot, but the minute Olivia turned her look on them, they blushed and turned their looks away.
"You didn't tell me you were popular..", Scarlett whispered.
"I'm not that popular.", Olivia said and sat in a corner.
Once she sat down, around twenty kids walked towards her and sat around her.
"Aren't you..?", Scarlett asked and rolled her eyes.
All of them were talking to Olivia and she was trying not to leave anyone behind. Scarlett took out her cellphone and started playing candy crush, because no one would talk to her, until a boy sat near her. "The shadow behind the sun?", he asked.
"What? No. I don't even know her.", Scarlett said and put her mobile in her pocket.
"So why are you hanging out with her..?"
"I'm not, we were just talking, 'cause we came with the same bus and we were sitting next to each other for the whole ride."
"That sounds like hanging out.."
"I'm not hanging out with her!", Scarlett shouted and the boy opened his eyes widely.
"Sorry..", he said and looked at the ground.
"Ughh.. It's my bad. I just want to fit in. So far I hate this place."
"But we are not even there.."
Scarlett took her hair in a messy ponytail and looked around. She hadn't noticed that the man that was in the bus with them, was waiting with them. She got confused. Everyone's age was lying between 7-18 years old.
"So, can I ask you something.... Umm.. What is your name again?", Scarlett asked the boy.
"It's Marcus. Marcus Castañeda. But everybody here calls with me with my last name."
"You don't look spanish."
"My great grandmother was spanish actually. I only inherited the name.."
