I pulled away from the lingering kiss and gasped involuntary; that had been good... but I didn't like him. No way. That was not what I was here for. He looked shell shocked; his mouth open in a perfect 'O'. I re-adjusted my hair, gave him a cheeky wink, sauntered off the table between a sea of surprised faces that followed me with their eyes as I walked, and leant against the trunk of a huge tree texting on my phone. Wow, I couldn't help being a little proud of myself for that one; I was just too cool.

Well I seem to have killed two birds with one stone: Do something to get a lot of attention and, I discover, become friends with the most popular boy and girl in the school. I can see them all huddling together, deciding whether they should try to label this new threat to their positions as an outcast or whether the response was so great they would be forced to make friends.

"Hey, new girl." A long, dark haired girl standing in the middle of a group of makeup plastered blondes calls.

"Yeah." I reply confidently as I swagger over to them "Though the name's not new girl, it's Skylar. Try to use it."

She scowls but continues.

"Well, Skylar, I'm Mia and that handsome guy over there is my boyfriend Jo." She says pointing to a muscular jock sitting on a bench three feet away, then laughing menacingly "So hands off."
I smile fakely

"He's not my type anyway."

"So you actually like that guy you kissed?"

"Uh, no. I was just messing. I would never date such a loser. I can't even remember his name."

All the girls start laughing and I know that if I just hitch my skirt up a few inches I'm in.

It's then that I see Connor standing just a couple of metres behind me outside the door to homeroom. We lock eyes and I'm frozen, he shakes his head in a mix of anger and sadness and runs through the door. I open my mouth to speak but it's too late, he's gone.

Byyyyyyeeee, asdasc123
