I stand still and turn my head towards the door. I run to it and try to get the door open. Of course it would be locked. I hear something or someone's footsteps coming toward me from the hall with all of the rooms. I don't see anything, but my only instinct is to run, but where to? I think of the stairs and start rushing up them. There is a door at the top, so I try to open it. It's jammed. I back up a little bit and full force body slam into it. It didn't work, but I tried again and this time it opened. I see him rushing up behind me and I slam the door shut. I'm holding the door closed and attempt to lock it. I do and take a couple of steps back to see if it can hold. Then, I see a huge window that looks about ground level. He shakes the door and eventually the whole door breaks down. I'm scared that he will eat me, so I punch the window out with great force. It shatters as my hand starts to bleed. I jump out the window and run for my life.
At first I don't know where I am, then I remember that I saw a gravel/grass area. I head toward the two fences. There isn't enough time to crawl under, so I climb to the top quickly. I jump down landing, thankfully, and start to climb again, even though my hand is stinging in pain. I get to the top and hop over it again. I land flawlessly as I start running right after. He stops at the first fence and watches me run. I start to slow down so I can catch my breath. Then, I look back at him and we make eye contact, even though he has no eyes. He is a skeleton thing in a suit. He has a slim waist and broad shoulders. He is also wearing some sort of bat bowtie. I turn away with tears in my eyes.
I walk towards that dog house I saw earlier. There is a tree nearby and I go and sit against it. Then a wolf comes out.
"Don't be afraid of me, young one." He says.
I don't reply. He comes over to me and says he is a special kind of wolf.
"I don't believe you." I say with confidence.
"You should. I can heal your hand if you want me to." he replies as he comes closer to me and starts licking my bloody knuckles.
I watch and as they heal and right before my eyes. Maybe he is a special kind of wolf, I think to myself. Well, he talks but he makes it seem normal. He can also heal people by licking them. What an odd thing. What else can he do?
"How are you able to do this?" I ask in confusion.
"Well, you do know that you are in the underworld, right? Anything is possible here. Deep down in the woods there are fairies, demons, vampires, and a lot of other things. I'm a ruler, a king. The good one. The thing that chased you was the evil king. I suggest you don't come here by yourself again, or at least go in that house by yourself. You're safe as long as you're with me. I promise that I will protect you. Now that you know about this world, we should keep in contact. Take this patch of fur and lay it on the ground in your room. Lay on it to come back. By the way, my name is Snowflake."
"Seems like a girly name." I say chuckling a bit.
"Don't make fun. My parents thought I was a girl." He retorts. "You can call me Blake. I'll see you around."
He goes back to his little "dog house" and I go lay on the patch of fur.
