As the night came to a close, the two decided to cut the chitchat and go inside. The exchanged smiles and bits of laughter all night. They both had a good time that night, eclusimg what happened previously that afternoon.
"Hey Kels," Nathan looked down upon Kelsey with a smile.
Kelsey looked up at Nathan, "Yeah?"
"Do you want to go inside? It is getting a bit chilly out here and I don't want you to freeze."
With a playful giggle Kelsey replied, "Sure, if it'll make you feel better."
Nathan sat Kelsey up and then stood up himself. Next he took her by the hand and helped her up to her feet. With Kelsey being a bit clumsy, of course, she fell onto Nathan as soon as he let go of her hand. Who thought any reaction he caught her, safe and sound.
He now had her hand in his and the were walking up her driveway, to the house. It was now going on 4 am and neither wanted to sleep.
"Wanna watch a movie," Nathan was sure to drag out 'wanna.'
"Hmm sure! What should we watch?"
"Wanna watch a scary movie?"
"Nathan!" She snacked him on his arm.
He laughed at the concerned sound of her voice. "Ah Kelsey come one you know I was only kidding! You should know that of all people."
She didn't respond back to him. He waited for at least 3 minutes before he broke the silence.
"Ah me lassy don't look so down! Ye don't want to me to make ya walk the plank do ye?"
Kelsey came out of her small moment. "Nathan why do you insist on doing that pirate voice?"
"Hmm maybe because it makes me lassy laugh the prettiest of laughter and shine brighter than any chest of gold!"
"Hmm fine."
After standing at the door for who knows how long, they decided to sit on the couch. Nathan got up and took the remote from the small coffee table and tossed it to Kelsey.
"Here, find a movie or something. I'll get some food and a blanket."
With that Nathan walked into the kitchen and dialed the local pizza place. Kelsey just mad faces at the movie choice on the TV screen in disapproval. Nathan hung up the phone after making his large cheese pizza order and made his was to the gray refrigerator. It was a sparkling gray with long black handles that stretched from the top to the floor.
Nathan opened the fridge and pulled out 2 cans of Mountain Dew. He headed back to the living room to see Kelsey making faces at the TV.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh uh it's just a thing I do." Kelsey was darting her eyes back and forth while giving a soft awkward laugh.
"Hmm okay then here," he handed her a soda.
She stretched her arm and took the soda, "Thanks."
Nathan then went to go get a blanket and came back with a big purple fuzzy blanket and sat down next to Kelsey on the couch.
"Here."
"Thanks, hey uh do you want to sit a little closer?"
Nathan took no thought in his answer, "Sure!"
