First Time on Shore

Aphrodite

I finally made it on shore with no one noticing me. When I walk up on land, I notice a small cabin in the distance. I walk there and knock on the door. And middle aged lady answers the door and is shocked by me.

"Oh, dear. You're indecent." She says. She directs me in and hand me something to cover up with. She says it's called a dress. She helps me with it, and I must say, it is very tight. I can barely breath. I look at myself in the mirror and am shock by how I look. The only thing I've ever worn in my life was my tail. I turn around to her. "Thank you. You are very kind." She smiles. "No worries dear. What is your name?" I hold out my hand.

"Aphrodite Dimetri. If you don't mind me asking, where am I?" She smiles. "Your not from around here are you? I know what your are." I look at her scared. She laughs. "Oh dear. I won't tell anyone. I am a witch. I knew who you were when I opened that door. I'm Annie, but you can call me Ann." I nod my head. "Nice to meet you Ann." She smiles.

"So what are you doing here on land, dear?" She offers me a sit and I take it. "Well, I want to come above shore. In over thousands of years of existents, I've never been on land." She nods her head handing me a cup with hot water in it. "Thousands of years. Wow. You don't look a day over 20." I laugh. "Well, dear. Your outside a small town called Mystic Falls in Virginia." I nod my head.

I drink the hot liquid and it taste really good. "What is this?" I asked. "That is tea, dear." I nod my head and drink some more. "I have to go into town today. Would you like to come?" I nod my head and smile.

We walk out of the door and began to walk to the town. It's a very small, cozy town. Ann and I walked to a place called the General Store. We walk in and they had do many things there. "Hello, Ann. Who's this?" Asked an old man behind the counter. "This is Aphrodite, Henry. She's new here and she will be living with me." She says while picking up different things of the shelf.

"Well, nice to meet you Aphrodite. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of name is Aphrodite?" I smile. "It's a Greek name. It means love, beauty, and eternal youth." He nod his head in understanding. Ann then walks to the counter. "Will that be all, Ann?" He asked. "Yes, Henry. I have to get home to fix supper." He nods his head and Ann pays for the items.

"Ann. Is Aphrodite looking for a job?" He asked looking at Ann then me. "I don't know. Would you want a job Aphrodite?" I smile with excitement. "I would love too. Thank you so very much." He smiles and nods his head as we leave.

We make it back to Ann's cabin and we begin cooking. We make a watery substance she says I'd called soup. She tells me everything I need to know about Mystic Falls and how people act. Soon, night falls and she has a tub filled with water.

"I can't touch water. My tail will show." I tell her. She nods her head and goes to a room and pulls out a necklace. She closes her eyes and starts chanting something. She opens her eyes and smiles. "As long as you wear this necklace, your tail will not appear. Hold your necklace and wish, and your tail will appear. Understand?" She asked me. I nod my head and look at the necklace.

"It's beautiful." I say. It's a necklace with of the letter A. "I can't take this, Ann." I say trying to hand her back the necklace. "Nonsense, dear. I want you to have it." I nod my head. "Thank you. May the gods bless you." I say. She smiles while I hold my long black hair up and she puts the necklace around my necklace. "Well, I'll leave you to it. There's a night gown on the bed." She walks out.

I get in the tub and surprisingly, my tail doesn't appear. I grab the scented liquid that smell like flowers. When I'm finished, I get out and put on the night gown and get in the bed. It's so soft. I soon fall into a deep sleep.
