When I woke up I cautiously opened my eyes and looked to see if Roy was awake. He was still sound asleep and snoring softly as always. I sighed happily as I slowly got out of the bed. There was a squeak as I moved and I cursed silently. He didn’t wake up though. I went out of his room tiptoeing and then ran when I was safely out of the door. I went downstairs to see Mrs. C eating.
“Are you just a morning person?” I asked her. She chuckled as her eyes lit up at me.
“What’s the name’s?” she asked me smiling.
“What?” I said sitting across from her grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl on the table.
“Did you two come up with the names for the kids yet?” she smiled at me. I groaned and shook my head.
“Not yet.” I said shaking my head as I bit into the apple. I looked out the window and saw the snow that covered the ground. It wasn’t ten inches but it was close.
20 minutes later I was still in the kitchen and Roy was still not awake. I finished the apple, but I was still too sleepy to move. Then I saw the happy couple trot down the stairs and walk toward the door for their coats. I got out of the seat. Leg cramp....gotta stetch that later and pushed my seat in.
“Where you guys going?” I asked curiously as I leaned on the door frame of the kitchen.
“Going shopping we’ll be back in about 4 hours” Mr. Calem told me.
“What?! You can’t leave me here. Your son has been changing and last night just messed us up even more. I can’t tell you what you’ll come back to when you get home.” I told them with my arms crossed.
“You can be so dramatic darling. Hopefully when we come back we will see you two sitting on the couch kissing each other senseless. I do have to start planning the wedding if it’s going to be good.” Mrs. Calem told me as she and her husband left the house with only me and the hormonal teenage guy inside. As if on cue I heard the yawn of Roy and cringed. 4 hours of avoiding him. This was going to be hard. He stumbled down the stairs rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He smirked when he saw me by the staircase. When he reached the last step he kissed my forehead briefly and went to the kitchen.
“Good morning.” I told him as he raided the fridge. He turned around and smirked.
“Morning’.” He murmured and sat down with a left over bowl of spaghetti in his hands. He sat at the table and nodded his head at the seat across from him. I sat down wearily.
“Where are my parents?” he asked as he took a bite of the cold spaghetti. I gulped. I could always lie. But lying gets you no where. What I really need is a bus ticket.
“They went to the store they’ll be back in a few hours.” I told him looking at the table. Then I felt a toe skim my bare leg. I quickly looked up to see Roy grinning.
“So we have the place to ourselves.” With his foot still near mine he reached across the table and grabbed my hands.
He layed his head on his arms and looked up at me with his innocent eyes as he asked “What do you want to do?” he played with my fingers. I pulled my hands away and glared at him.
“You will be leaving me alone is what we’re going to do.” I told him sternly and went to the living room.
“Angel come on it wasn’t that weird. You know you loved it.” He followed me in the room and sat by me on the couch. I rolled my eyes at him and sighed.
