The day was pretty boring and nothing happened until that night. I was in the hallway looking for some sheets in the linen closet. Roy really needed some clean sheets for that bed.

Mr. Calem walked by me and said, “Oh Tia you have to get ready we’re going out to dinner tonight.” He told me and ran to his room to get dressed. What? I didn’t even have a dress and knowing them it was probably going to be an expensive place. This is some real crap. Maybe Mrs. C can lend me something to wear. We're pretty much the same size. I found her in the kitchen looking at the exact door that I came in through.

“I guess you were expecting me?” I was a little afraid.

“Yes darling I know you need something to wear. I got you a dress today that will have Royce’s eyes glued to you.” She clapped her hands together excitedly. I started to choke on air and gag so much that Mrs. Calem almost called 911.

“What did you say?” I looked at her my mouth probably dropped so low that I could almost taste the Pine Sol on the floor.

“Oh sweetie we know that you two like each other. That’s pretty obvious.” I looked at her shocked. Did the whole family have a fascination with me now?

“Mrs. C thanks for the dress but I wasn’t trying to impress anyone. Roy and I are just friends.” I rolled my eyes at her craziness.

“Well that’s too bad I have always wanted you for my Roy. (Eyes getting big) Then I can plan a beautiful wedding (Bigger) and have beautiful grandchildren running around the house. I know you have some good genes. (Ok this lady is nuts). Just I see the way he looks at you and I know he cares for you.” She said smiling at me and her eyes glazed over with dreams for the future. I looked at her trying to keep my temper in check.

“Well will you still give me the dress? Even though I think you are wrong.” I asked her forcing my voice to be nice.

“Of course what kind of person would I be if I did that?” She smiled hoping that I would let this go.

“Yeah your right. You’re too nice of a person. It’s ok I forgive you.” I followed her up the stairs to her room. She went to the closet and pulled out a royal blue dress with ruffles and a black belt around the waist. It stopped about mid thigh. Then she gave me some sparkly black and blue heels and a blue heart pendant necklace.

I smiled looking at the dress, shoes, and necklace. It was gorgeous.

“Thanks Mrs. C this is gorgeous. I’ll give it back tonight.”

“Nonsense I got you this as a gift. Just felt now was the time to give it to you.” I gave her a quick hug and ran to the bathroom to get changed. I finally came out wearing minimal makeup and feeling really nice. I descended down the stairs and Roy’s eyes were glued to me. I giggled to myself remembering what Mrs. C said. I walked over to him and he gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead. He looked so freaking handsome. How can he look so good wearing dress pants and a normal button down white shirt? I sighed to myself and looked up at him. When he let go of me he let out a low whistle so that his parents wouldn’t hear.

“You look gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, sexy, alluring, dazzling, trust that if you don’t stop me I can go on.” He winked at me and I put a finger to his lips.

“Enough talking thanks for the wonderful compliments but if we don’t leave we won’t be able to show people how dashing we look.” I grabbed his hand and dragged him out to the car. We got in his dad’s Hummer. Mr. Calem was the only one who was still in his right mind when it came to people. He has been the only one who hasn't hinted to me about Roy yet. Mother and son were screwed up in the head. We drove in silence to the restaurant. The drive would have been less awkward if Roy didn’t decide to play with my fingers during the ride. Things were just getting weirder and weirder with him.
