Normal POV

A young girl with blonde hair ran across the green field laughing."come on Natsu catch up!" she yelled looking back. Soon a young boy with pink spikey hair came into view and fell from the air, knowing his wings couldn't carry him no more."princess Lucy! Wait up!" he whined. She giggled letting him catch up. Once he did he caught his breathe and they sat down on the edge of a nearby cliff with the view of the town. "So Natsu where did you get that scarf?" the young girl named Lucy asked pointing at the white checkered scarf around the young boys neck.

"Oh my father Igneel gave it to me before he disappeared" he replied."oh I'm sorry. Is he a dragon too?" she asked again since she had only just met the boy. "Yeah but I'm determined to find him no matter what!" he smiled giving a huge grin."well i look forward to the day i get to meet him!" she cheered back. "So Lucy what does a princess do?" Natsu asked."well we do a lot of things. We have to be nice and pretty. We have to be formal and do everything neat and clean" she explained."That sounds hard" he said scratching the small horn on his head.

"I guess" She said thinking."What do dragons do?" she asked. "Easy!...." he trailed off standing up smiling and showing his small muscles."We get strong and protect humans!" he finished. She stared at him with her chocolate brown eyes. He seemed to notice and stared back with his onyx eyes."Whats wrong Luce?" he said giving her a nickname."um Luce?" she asked confused."yeah its a nickname i came up with like it?" he replied. She nodded and stood up as well. "So whats wrong?" he asked once more. She blushed and grew nervous.

She kept playing with her sweaty palms and her hair while looking down."W-well i was just w-wondering if you would...you know....Protect me?" she asked stuttering. He was surprised by the question but hugged her. "Of course from now on you're only my princess and only i can protect you!" he shouted. She grinned and nodded pulling apart from the hug. "LUCY!!!" they both heard. "I gotta go Natsu...meet me tomorrow?" she asked.

He nodded."okay then ill meet you in your room. bye Luce!" he yelled before jumping off the cliff and flying through the blue sky and back home."LUCY!!!" the little girl heard once more."I'm coming father!" she replied and ran back towards the castle not to far away.

Time skip: A year later

Lucy walked inside her room crying and locked her door. She then went onto her bed and buried her face into her pillow. She had been upset because her mom had just died. Flapping was then heard and stopped by her window."Luce? Whats wrong why are you crying?" Natsu asked making his wings and horns disappear. She removed her face from the pillow and ran into his small chest. "my mom is gone!" she screamed. His eyes widened but they soon softened as he patted her back trying to comfort her.

"Shhh its okay I'm here" he said. She had stopped crying and nodded."look i got you something" he said. She looked up at him with tears still brimming her eyes."what is it?" she asked. He then put a necklace on her neck that contained half of a heart and had the words 'Friends Ever'. "Thank you Natsu!" she smiled."look i have the other half!" he replied and showed his half with the words 'best For'. He attached the two pieces and it formed 'Best Friends Forever'.

"Thank you Natsu" she smiled and hugged him. He blushed and hugged her back."i should go... I promise to be back tomorrow!" he said flying out the window. She nodded and waved goodbye as a maid came walking in. "Princess Lucy who on earth are you speaking to?" a maid with short pink hair asked."Virgo? Oh no one" the girl replied and went with the maid to the dinner table. Little did she know was that the conversation she would soon have would change her life....forever.

Time skip: another year later at midnight

Natsu saw the view of the castle as he flew through the dark sky. He entered the open window to reveal a crying Lucy sitting on the corner of her bed. He walked up to her silently and looked over her shoulder. She didn't seem to notice. So he went on the other side of her head. She didn't do anything so he decided to go on the low ceiling. He hung upside down and stared at her face. She finally looked up and he smiled. She then turned around avoiding him and he showed a frown.

He went down down falling on the bed onto his face. He sat up and rubbed his hurting face since he had fallen from quite a height. The girl turned around to see him about to cry from the pain and started giggling. He looked at her confused and blushed as she pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the tears. "Whats the matter Luce?" he asked."its just..... Father is so mean now....I'm not allowed to go outside anymore or do anything fun. My father took away all my books and games" she explained.

The girl looked saddened and as did the boy."well then run away with me" he said. "What?! Are you crazy?!" she asked as he pulled her hand near the window. "Please Luce. Run away with me. We can start a new life!" he said."i don't know" she hesitantly said. He quickly looked outside gaining an idea and looked back at the girl." how about i take you on one last ride and then you can tell me your answer." he said. She slowly nodded and hopped onto his back.

He flew off making her squeeze tight scared."its okay Luce i wont let you get hurt" he said reassuringly. She nodded and slowly sat up letting her blonde hair fly back. They went around the park and through loops. They hovered over ponds and over the clouds showing the moon before returning home."thanks Natsu" she said. "No problem so will you come with me?" he asked. She smiled and was about to give an answer until her father barged through the doors with soldiers behind him."there capture him!" he yelled.

"No leave him alone!" Lucy yelled. Her father ignored her. "Natsu run!" she yelled. The boy did as she told and flew out the window but not before yelling. "ILL RETURN FOR YOU ONE DAY LUCY!!" with that he disappeared into the night. He was never seen again......until....
