Everyone sat around Bobby's house talking and having a great time. Jo, Ellen and Cas were having a drinking contest, and Cas was winning. Bobby was packing rock salt into rounds while Sam sat on the couch reading as usual, and Dean was at the fridge getting a beer.
You sat perched on Bobby's desk watching the scene with contentment. This was the first time since you had heard about the world ending that you were truly happy and content. Well, for the most part. A pang in your chest would make you almost tear up whenever you glanced over to Dean.
Right now he was talking with Jo. And they were standing really close. You like Jo, you really did, but at this moment you wanted to pound her face in. God, you hated feeling this way.
"Hey, Y/N, you know ancient Greek right?" Sam asked looking up from his book.
"Yeah," You huffed getting down from your perch and taking a seat next to Sam. He pointed to the words and you translated for him, and when you finished you looked up to see Jo and Dean still talking, and judging by the look on Dean's face he was most definitely flirting. "I think I'm going to sleep." You said getting up.
"It's only 10." Sam stated. "You never sleep until like 2."
"Well, I'm tired." You said lying and heading upstairs to the room Bobby had set up for you ever since you were little. Once in your room you feel on your bed and buried your face in your pillows and cried. The tears flowed freely, moistening your pillow. Suddenly a warm hand touched your shoulder making you jump because you hadn't heard whoever it was come in. You looked up to see Sam. "Go away Sam." You said trying to hide your face so he didn't know that you were crying.
But like usual he saw right through you. Sitting down his puppy eyes never left yours. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked simply.
"Not really." You said looking at the wall. Silence filled the room as Sam pet your hair soothingly. "Sam, why me?"
"What?" Sam asked confused by the question.
"Why me? Why was I chosen to be know about all this stuff and be a hunter. I never asked for this life. Hell, I hate living like this. I just want a normal life. Live in a normal house, have normal friends, and have normal family. The life we live gives me no chance at finding love and having children. And when I do find someone he likes someone else. Am I just not good enough?" You asked through tears.
Sam pulled you into a hug one full of protection and love. "Never say that you're not good enough." He said "And if you weren't chose to live this life than we would have never meant. And Y/N, I can't imagine my life with you. Do you understand?"
A smile crept along your lips. Sam always knew how to make you feel better. Looking at his face made you wonder if you were in love with the wrong Winchester.
