Pacifica Northwest woke up suddenly from her not-so peaceful slumber, shooting up from where she laid and breathing heavily before slowly calming down. She held back tears as she remembered her dream, which was more of a memory than anything, trying to keep herself together despite the fact she was alone in her room. She pursed her lips and got up to check the time. '5:13'. Not too bad. She could deal with 5:13.
She walked to the bathroom then, stepping out of the pajamas that she probably wouldn't be willing to wear again and stepped into the shower, letting the warm water run over her and rinsing her hair, running a hand through it and caught by surprise, even after over 6 months, that it was only to her shoulders. She swallowed, she realized soon after getting it cut that she hated it. It had meant to symbolize that it was a different time in her life but it only made her remember why she had wanted that in the first place. To try and forget. Which everything about her new home did the opposite. It made everything worse actually. Too many reminders as to why she had moved and tried to change her look and interests and friends. So she wouldn't have to deal with or think about... that. The heartbreak and broken promises and all around hurt that they had caused. All of them. She grabbed a washcloth and put her soap on it, closing her eyes and smiling a bit at the lavender smell before scrubbing herself down, unintentionally a bit harder than normal leaving her skin a bit red, a side effect of mixing heat with a rough towel against your skin though she didn't really mind. She quickly rinsed herself off and turned off the water.
Pacifica got out of the shower and dried herself off before going out and getting changed into regular clothes, just jeans and a t-shirt today. She looked herself over in the mirror, still slightly surprised by how quickly she had changed her lifestyle once she had moved away from Gravity Falls, Oregon and to another small town in Washington (State, not D.C.). The thought of leaving the only home she'd ever known seemed a bit ridiculous at first before she had realized what she would have to deal with and face if she stayed. No, it was much better that she'd left, only telling her dear friend Mabel Pines of what she was doing and making her promise not to tell anyone. It was a farewell filled with lots of tears and promises from both girls. More tears came to Pacifica's eyes at the memory but she wiped them away and grabbed her jacket before heading out of her little apartment and downstairs, out into the street and towards her job down the street, putting back on her new face. New personality. New attitude.
Her new protection against... well, everything.
