RING! RING! RING!
I slammed my hand down on my alarm clock and groaned. I hated getting up for school and there was only a couple more months before i graduated from eighth grade. I couldn't wait i was almost done with this school and in 2 months i would be considered a freshmen. Yay!
"Marrissa get up now because you cant be late to school again!" my mom yelled from the kitchen.
I got up and sat in my bed for a minute. I had a bad feeling about today and i don't know why but something was off. I got dressed quickly because i didn't want to be late, then i got ready in the bathroom before my brother could get in there. I walked out and seen my mom on the computer doing her schoolwork from yesterday. You see my mom was taking medical coding and billing classes and she was almost done. She would graduate in august. I saw my brother in the kitchen eating cereal. I wasn't a morning person so i sat on the couch and waited until it was time to leave.
"Alright guys, lets go." my mom said as she got up from the computer and me and my brother headed for the car.
"Shotgun" i called before ryan, then we got in the car and drove to school.
20 minutes later and i was sitting in homeroom next to one of my best friends, Skylar.
"Hey" i said when she sat down
"Hey whats up" she said back then we got into a conversation about how the project in social studies was going since we were in the same group.
6 1/2 hours later
It was ninth period and it was the most boring class ever because my algebra teacher didn't even explain to us whatever we learned it that class anyway so i didn't pay attention and my mind drifted to what i've been dreading about thinking about, my dad. I wrote him a letter a couple months back explaining to him i wouldn't be forgiving him for what he did to my mom. He wrote back saying he understood then he was guilt tripping me into writing him so like the good daughter i pulled out a sheet of paper and started writing him a letter about what was going on in my life, then the bell rang, finally. I walked to my locker just outside the classroom and my books inside got my bag ready and went to walk out with my other best friend, Deanna. We walked home from the bus stop and went home. When i got home my mom was in the kitchen making tacos.
"Hey mom how was your day?" i asked her.
"Good how was yours?"
"Fine" i replied then went to my room and went on my computer.
I went on my computer for a little bit then realized i was tired so i took a nap.
By the time i got up it was 5:17 and i forgot to wake up my mom for work i got up, then Ryan came barging in my room upset.
"Marrissa, mom's not waking up even when i shook her she still didnt get up an-" i cut him off.
"Ryan calm down i'm sure she's fine." i said
I got up and walked to my mom's room and shook her but she didn't get up, then i called her name and she still wouldn't get up so i told Ryan to get me the phone. I was so scared, i'm sure she was fine but i didn't want to take any chances so i dialed 911 and told Ryan to go to my neighbors to get help. Five minutes later my best friends grandma walked in and checked on my mom. By now i was freaking out because the ambulance just arrived and they went into my mom's room to get her out. Me and my brother were sitting on the couch with my best friend, Deanna and we were waiting for them to take her to the hospital so we could follow. When they took her away in the ambulance my best friends grandma offered to give us a ride to the hospital but i told her to go by my aunt's house first since she was my mom's sister. I knocked on the door and when my aunt came to the door i explained the situation to her and she said she would follow us to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital we checked in with the receptionist and she told us to sit down and wait. When the doctor came out she told us to follow her and she led us to this room where it had some chairs, a television, and a table with tissue on it. I looked around the room and knew something was wrong. We waited for what felt like hours until a doctor came in and told us the worst news of my life, my mother died.
