Chapter 3: The First Encounter

Chapter 3: -Dan

I was stood with Chris talking about various things, mostly his YouTube channel, he is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. (I still had Phil on my mind of course.) “So Dan enough about me, what’ve you been doing recently?” I described to him my week, which consisted of eating Malteasers, watching Dexter and making the occasional video. Suddenly I felt soft, delicate fingertips brush past mine, the feeling was so gentle I hardly noticed the accidental touch. I turned around to see the back of someone’s head, walking away from me. I vaguely recognised the  back of the person’s head but thought nothing of it.

I turned back around to face Chris when the music stopped and Charlie shushed everyone, we turned around to face him.

I really had thought nothing of the accidental encounter until this moment, the moment I saw the beautiful person whom I knew those gentle fingertips belonged to.  It was as if this was the moment I had waited for my whole life.

I stared into Phil’s beautiful blue eyes, I presume he was about to say something to everyone but he stayed quiet. I realised he was staring back at me, I didn’t know why. I got shy, I felt my cheeks turn bright red, I smiled, looked down towards my feet and shuffled back and forth. Why on earth was he looking at me?

I looked up to make sure I hadn’t been fooled by my longing eyes, but sure enough, he was still staring at me. The butterflies in my stomach took over and I just smiled right at him and mouthed “Speak”. He coughed, I suspect trying to seem casual, which made me chuckle. He smiled at me and then started to talk.

He was even more perfect in person.
