The wind brushed its fingers through my long dirty blonde hair while as I leaned my head out the window.
"Chloe don't do that! You could get your head chopped off!" He reached over, pushing me down in my seat, "Put your seatbelt on!" I immediately put my seat belt around my small figure.
We were on our way to our weekly visit to the beach nearby.
We have been driving for quite a while. I then reached my hand out the window, pretending it was a fish flying through the air.
I noticed my dad looking over to me, smiling at what I was doing."I'm sorry I yelled at you sweetie." He said softly. I knew he was so I didn't really need the apology.
"Are we almost there?" I asked excited.
"Actually yes." My dad said pulling our car up to a ticket booth.
There was a white wooden sign above the driveway entrance.
It read "welcome" in bold blue letters. We sat there waiting in silence, to no one welcoming us.
My dad reached his arm out, and knocked on the sliding window."Hello?" He said nervous. There was a sense of dread in the air.
No answer.
He knocked 3 times again, then yelled "Hello? Anyone there?"
The window slid open to an oddly postured man.
He said nothing, just stared.
His head looked down, as if it was going to fall off.
His arms dangled at his side, like noodles. He was wearing a, too big, red and white checkered button up shirt."H-Hello? Ho-ow May I-I help you, hehe" spoke the strange man.
"uhm- okay then. I just will pay and we will be on our way."
"Five dollars for children. Ten for adults." The man giggled in a creepy way. My dad reached his arm out, to have it be aggressively grabbed.
"Hey!" Screamed Dad, "Let go you fucker!" My dad who never cussed pulled the guy forward. The man laughed hysterically. He fell lifelessly out the window, landing right next to the car.
"Roll up your window Chloe!" My dad demanded. I hit the button that makes the window go up, Dad did so as well.
The man's face slowly peeled off. His mouth went round, two rows of small sharp teeth dripped disgusting yellowish drool.
The screech grew louder. Its boney figure bent backwards, then forwards. It began banging it's head on the car's window, repeatedly. Dad immediately sped off down the road. I began to hyperventilate, while my dad tried to stay calm. The car suddenly went to a stop halfway down the dirt road. We saw a slim shadow figure standing in the distance. Directly in the middle of the tree surrounded road. I remembered, we were in the middle of no-where."Run it over!" I yelled panicking. "It could be like that crazy guy at the window!"
My dad didn't respond but backed up the car. He turned around looking forward, and froze. We looked up to see 4 more standing behind the creature. My dad gripped the wheel. He was about to hit the gas, when something slammed against the back off the car.
We both screamed, screeching echoed around us, occurring from the back of the car.
The creature lifted the car up, and dropped it, slamming the whole car against the road.
The car shook, I screamed at the top of my lungs. Dad hit the gas speeding towards the creatures off in the distance, but when we almost hit them...they all vanished.
My dads eyes and mine widened but we kept going. I turned around to see them still following us and running on all fours like spiders, and screeching. I could never forget those screeches.***
We sat in silence while my Dad drove the car down the barren country road. The car made odd sounds that randomly broke the eerie silence. The quietness drove me to paranoia. it started to get eerily dark. There were no streetlights on the road, which added to the darkness.
My eyes drifted to the cracked window, then to my Dad. Something was off about him. Daddy seemed to be dozed off. Dad's eerie gaze focused on the dirt road in front of him. He was green pale and he had bags under his eyes.
"Daddy are we almost home?" I asked anxiously.
Daddy just watched the road, his body still... lifeless. His silence was unnerving.
"Dad....?" My hand drifted to poke his arm. His arm was...stiff. Tears formed in my eyes when I shook his arm. A scream escaped my throat when my dad suddenly snapped his head to the side, making an odd gurgling screaming noise.
He then sighed and released his grip on the steering wheel, blood dripping from his lips.
The car swerved down the road and slammed into a ditch. I slammed my head on the dashboard blacking out.
