Standing in the lonely room my eyes scanned it as if analyzing the situation that just happened. Did that really just happen? Is the only clear thought swirling in my mind. The only light came from the bathroom flooding across from the hospital bed. My eyes shifted to the stack of white paper and mini box of crayons lying on the desk that separated from the second- empty- hospital bed. I sighed and sat back down on the bed as if it were a chair. My hand gripped the crayon. Biting my lip I began to scribble on the blank white paper;

Unusual things have been happening lately... For instance, just three days ago I heard a scratching sound coming from my room, when I was in the kitchen. I went to investigate and found nothing.
That night I was in my room and I was getting ready to take a shower. I opened my closet, to grab a change of clothes... My heart fell to my stomach when my eyes landed on "LOL" frantically carved into the inside of the door, just above the door handle. I didn't know how to feel about it, so I ignored it. I know, I know, I was stupid to, but nothing else happened... Nothing was in the house....

The next day I woke up and heard something in the kitchen. It was an odd snickering. Groggily rolling out of bed, I crept out of my room, drawn to the giggling in the kitchen. My legs stopped in their path- halfway down the hallway- when a putrid smell caused my face to cringe.  making my way around the corner to the kitchen.
Eyes watering I saw the most horrid thing I ever saw in my life... There was a dead cat torn in half lying in front of the fridge... But the most disturbing part was that its innards were strewn into 'LOL'. I gaged stepping away- arms and legs trembling- I then started puking all over the carpet. The cat must have been dead for a long time with that smell traumatized my nostrils.

The snickering was back...

This time I followed the laughing. I was determined to find out who the fuck was in my house and did this disgusting deed to this innocent animal... I stalked the giggling to the backyard... My feet stopped at the threshold- The glass slider doors separated me from the... thing... It had a tall top hat... a trenchcoat... Its form were like a blurred shadow... Its hazmat appearance had been hypnotizing... White eyes burning through me... Its plastic 'Cheshire' grin, wide and satanic- I was paralyzed with fear... Its mouth didn't open- but it spoke in a deep soft sinister voice

"No one will believe you," then it vanished leaving a black fog...I stood there... my mouth a gap. I instantly bolted to the cell phone in my room; my heart pulsated so violently in my chest it felt like it might burst out. When I got there, in a flash I dialed 911.
The phone rang twice- I was paranoid and shaking- This odd gurgling hissing sound broke the silence in the living room... I immediately screamed that someone was in my house and my location to the police lady and hung up. I then searched The room for something to use as a weapon. I heard two feet walk up the stairs and pass my room...I turned around seeing nothing. A swift feeling of relief swept over me when, suddenly, two hands choked me from behind and I slammed down to the ground, stomach first- Everything went black...

I gasped- Eyes shot open. The room was bright causing me too squint.

"Wh- where am I" I whined.

"It's okay." A nurse said softly. "You are in the hospital. You are being taken care of,"

Everything was a haze. My neck hurt.

"You are safe." spoke the nurse comfortingly.

I had been disoriented and the world was spinning... Everything began to fade to black...

When I awoke I was in a strange room. The walls a blaring white. Two chairs sat in the room and a table in-between the two chairs, I noticed how it was bolted to the floor. This is where I am now, I can't espcae to this day it haunts me. Haunts every piece of my being I can't close my eyes without seeing that grin. Blamed for a child's death that I can't remember but the cops finding it's body in my kitchen. I can't remember. I cant leave
