It was nice
The sound and feel of freedom
Rolling down a long country road
Cruising in a yellow 74 Honda
Window down
Hand hanging out of the window
Thrashing against the wind
Short red hair blowing
Screaming "wooohooo" down the road
And laughing
Obnoxiously
The sound and feel of freedom
Felt so right
Rocking and rolling
In my Doc Martens
With black and white striped knee high socks
High waisted jeans shorts
White tank top with a red flannel
With red and grey lines
It felt right
Feeling good
Cruising down that nice long country road
No other cars
Just us
Lucas and I that is
I brushed my fingers through his soft blonde hair
And messed it up a little
He hated when I did that
But I loved how his nose scrunched up when I did it
We just cruised down the long, silent, smooth country road
Rocking and rolling
Wind blowing in my short red hair
Crashing against my face
Wind so loud I could hardly hear the music
But the wind was all I needed to hear
It's melody was perfect
And I loved it
Every part of it
We didn't have a actual say in where we were going
But anywhere was better than where we'd come from
We always made the best of where we were going and how we were getting there
And it always made us happy
Because we always knew that that happiness would be snatched away
And we'd have to go back to where we tried so many times to get away from
