"Thanks will!" I shout as I open my front door. He honks the horn in return, he isn't the loudest so I probably wouldn't hear him say goodbye back, a beep works.
I drop my bag by the stairs and take out my lunch box to empty it. As I walk in the kitchen I see my mother sitting at the kitchen table, crying.
"Mum!" I shout, running up to her.
"Shh-shhh" she says between sobs.
"Mother, please what's wrong?" I rapidly ask her.
"Where's grandma!" I shout looking around quickly.
"Shhh-she's- she is sleeping up stairs, please do not wake her." She says taking deep breaths.
"Mum, mum, what's the matter?" I say a bit fast paced to understand.
"Aunt Heidi.. And Lucy..." She says trembling. I stand there, pacing waiting for her to continue.
"Bianca! Please calm... D-down.." My mother still cries.
"They umm.. Got in awful car crash.. And-d-d." She says shaking, stretching the d in end.
"Died." She puts her head on the table. Feet wrapped around the legs of the chair.
I immediately drop everything I had in my hand. Better known as a little sandwich box I put my sandwiches in for school.
Aunt Heidi was mum's sister, her best friend. They did everything together when they were young. That's one of the reasons I didn't understand why we left to go to England while Aunt Heidi was still in Australia.
Up until I was 11, we went over to their house for Easter every year. Lucy and I, along with some other cousins, would have a Easter egg hunt in Lucy's back yard, while all the adults socialized or whatever.
"Lucy.... Aunt Heidi..." I said. I swallowed hard as if something was blocking my throat.
I slowly wander back to the counter and finish cleaning up my lunch box.
I go back to my mother and sat across from her.
"It's ok mum... We will remember them as great...." Then I burst into tears.
"G-great people." I start sobbing as I hear someone walking down the stairs.
"Mother.. Grandma... Is awake.."
My mum looks at me and stands up. She kisses my forehead as she walked to the living room to meet grandma.
I can't bare see her face when mum tells her Heidi and Lucy died in a car crash. My grandma is from my mothers side.
Lucy was an only child while I had an older brother. We were all like brother and sisters. Lucy always wanted a baby brother to help him learn and grow, she never did get one, but she always had my brother and I, only 10 minutes away. But as the years went by we kind of just stopped talking to each other.
The last time I saw her was the summer I turned 13, we all went to the pool, she sun tanned and swam and just enjoyed life. The next time I'll see her, she'll be dead...
When I herd mum tell grandma about what happen, silence fell through the house. even our neighbors annoying dog stopped barking for our moment of peace.
I stood up and dropped my head, slowly looking towards the ground. I walked up the stairs and dragged my feet across the floor to my room, I remembered I forgot my bag at the bottom of the steps. I look back wondering if I should go get it.. But I feel so tired..
I slam my body down on my bed, my face hitting my pillow, letting out all the tears.
I wonder where my brother is, he is in the last year of high school... He got out as the Same time as me.. He's probably out with his mates.
I lay there for what seems like hours, when really it's been 20 minutes. 20 minutes strait of crying.
I sniffle and sneeze trying to get out of bed to seek out my brother but it's no use, I don't have any Energy.
I slowly drift away into a deep sleep. Waiting for what ever awaits for me tomorrow.
