Chapter 5

Boredom

" Are you already done packing?" Mommy asks while I peck to her cheeks. I replied a nod and sat in front of my sleepy brother who looks going to sleep in front of the food. He really used his summer greatly huh.

"Where are you going?" My brother curiously looks at me with his forehead creased. He somewhat wakes up as he heard our mom ask if I already packed. I rolled my eyes to him. How dare he forget what I say to him or he really not pay attention?

"Leadership camp" I note to myself that always check if my brother pays attention on what I'm telling to him. So that I know if wasting some saliva is worth it.

These past few months seems someone bothers to him to death. Oh. Maybe he is in love or what.

"It's tomorrow afternoon, right honey?" mommy ask while stirring her coffee. "I shall take a half day so that we can accompany you." I look at Mommy who smiled sweetly to me. I quickly shook my head to her -not that I don't want to be accompanied to her but wasting a time for her work.

"No mommy, it's okay. Xander can accompany me and also carry my baggage" I refused.

Mommy shook her head that shows she disapproved. "You're going to be away on us for how many days and you don't want me to accompany you? Don't worry for deductions. "That makes me nod. No one can make her change her mind anyway.

Vacation has start but I keep sleeping, eating, reading for the past few days. Even watching a basketball game because of my brother is one of the players is also one of my routines every day. I even had a one-on-one match with Xander in basketball because of my boredom. Thanks to the household chores that also help to kill the time and makes our mother to take more rest as we already done the things she need to do before and after her work.

As we finished eating, mommy hurriedly prepares herself for work. While me and Xander, still debating on who will wash the dishes that ends up him the one to do.

"Sometimes it's unfair to have an older sibling" he muttered. I just chuckled to his rant and start sweeping the living room.

A few minutes later, Mommy goes down on stairs wearing her office attire. Her straight hair is loose and still stunning without putting a make-up. If people don't know that Xander and I are her children, maybe they thought mommy is on her mid 20's even though she is now on her mid 30's.

"Always maintain cleanliness on the house. Xandrea, you're in-charge. "Mommy ordered. I nodded and we bid our goodbye. We continued what we are doing then do our own business. Xander watch a basketball game on the Television while I go upstairs.

It seems reading book on the balcony sounds appealing.

*****

I put down the book that I finished a few minutes ago. This is the 2nd book that I read for this day. But I can't get over with the ending. Plus the feeling I don't know the book that I will read next.
