Chapter 2

The tour

I shake my head in astonishment. I must be dreaming.

Lila must have been thinking the same thing, because I caught her pinching herself.

"Wake up Skye!" I said a little louder than I had expected.

The girl... Katarina, I think it was, shook her head and without blinking an eye, said, " I assure you, this is as awake as you will ever be. We have picked the most talented and agile students at this school to be part of this program. I, myself, have been in this program for three years for my talent in hand to hand combat and weaponry."

"Weaponry! What do you mean weaponry?" Lila outbursts.

"I mean weaponry. Everyone here has a special talent. For example, Lila, your talent is music. Skylar, your talent is sports. Each and everyone of you here excels at something. Any more questions?"

I decide to speak up, " Yes, I have a question." 

"Yes, Skylar?" Katarina replies. 

"Why are we here? I mean, why is this program here?"

Katarina gives me a glum look. "We are here to protect the government from the people trying to ruin it. Severance. They have some of the smartest and most notorious people known to mankind, but that's why we are here. To protect and serve the government. Are we clear?" 

"Yes ma'am" I reply quickly.

"Now, on with the tour." 

I look around, and it's a lot bigger from the inside.  

Katarina begins speaking again. 

"This is the training room, where you will learn how to use your abilities to your advantage, and become an Underschooler. This next room is the tech room, where we get all our information on what's going on. 

This is the break room, nothing special, and this, this is the Main Room of our Underschoolers HQ."

It was amazing! There must have been hundreds of people in that room! I must have looked too amazed, because Katarina looked at me like I was crazy.

"Wait, you said everyone has a talent, and mine is music. How would that help at all?" Proclaimed Lila. 

" I was hoping you would ask that." Answered Katarina. 

She proceeded to pull out a suitcase from under a desk, and inside it was a small, silver flute. 

"Ooh I can play the flute!" Lila says as she grabs it. 

"AHH!" Katarina screams. She quickly grabs the flute back.  

"What was that for?" Lila asks, agitated. 

"That was a sonic boom flute! If you played that everyone in here would have passed out from the sound!" 

" Oh...ok" Lila said, sounding dissapointed.

"Yeah LILA! YOU don't get to!" I said tauntingly. 

"Oh shut up Skye!"

"Ok, now I would like to inform you, that you will all have the same schedules and you will skip P.E. 

and elective so you have more time to train." Katarina said quickly as she passes out the new schedule.

Lila and I looked at each other and said simultaneously," YEAHHHH!!!"
