Chapter 5

Jake POV

Why did he actually like her? I know they are best friends and everything but why did he actually decide to love her now? Just when I was about to ask her whether she wanted to go to the dance with ME. Ugh. Stupid boy…

How can I make this look like she chose me over Josh without her knowing he loves her? I could offer to tell her how he feels for him…but he wouldn’t go for it would he! Would he?

I knocked on his door. No answer. I walked into his room. He was lying on his bed with his eyes closed. I grabbed his collar and picked him up. He opened his eyes with a massive grin on face but it turned into a scowl when he saw me. This was going to be harder than I thought. I decided to laugh it off. “Stop being such a baby, it was just a joke! Jeez.” I laughed. I set him on his feet, “I’ve decided that I overreacted earlier. Sorry.” I said, looking down.

He looked at me, dumbstruck; well this was working better than I thought!

 “If you are worried about what she might say, I could talk to her and subtly ask whether she likes you? If you want…” I offered, looking at the ground.

Still no response. What did I say wrong? Great. I messed up….

RING RING RING!!!!! He looked at his phone, I guessed it was Alex. He looked up at me, “Yeah that would be great…thanks.” He said. YES!!!!!!!! My plan worked! I am amazing! Hahaha!

“How about you come over to mine?” I heard him say to Alex. The perfect chance to talk to her. I’m guessing that’s why Josh said it. I hope Alex says yes…

Josh’s POV

I woke up early, worried about tonight. Usually when Alex comes over its great. Tonight she would find out how I really feel. AND Jake was going to help me. His timing on starting a nice streak was quite good!

I didn’t see Alex when I got to school. Hmm that’s odd; she is never late for school. Maybe she went to the library. Unfortunately I didn’t have any lessons with her in the morning. By the end of lunch I still hadn’t seen her. Maybe she was ill…it wasn’t like her to bunk. I reached my locker, to get my books for the afternoon when someone grabbed me from behind.

“Hey Josh!” Alex smiled as I turned around.

“Hi! Where were you? I couldn’t find you anywhere!” I said, closing my locker.

“I woke up late.” she said, looking embarrassed.

Haha that was SO Alex. She wasn’t a morning person.

“Still coming over tonight? “I said, as we made our way to Maths.

“Definitely!” she smiled at me.

The rest of the day passed in a blur and before I knew it, Alex and I were walking through my front door.

I could hear Jake watching TV in the living room. Perfect.

“Hey Alex, why don’t you got put on the film. I’ll get drinks and order pizza.” I said, pushing her gently towards the door of the living room. Hopefully Jake would talk to her and she would say yes!

She turned around as she got to the door and smiled at me.

She loves me?
