I look up at Mal in shock.
"You- me, your, your old!" I stutter, it came out more rudely than I expected. She merely nods. "How?" I ask quietly.
"Oh I'm so sorry Allison. I came into your family as to not look suspicious why I have never died before. I made myself look three and age from there, I changed my fingerprints and pulled a few stunts so you would think I knew nothing about magic." She reaches out to me but I pull back.
"So that's all I was to you? A way to make sure no one found out about you? So when I thought I was helping you it was all just an act. And it's because of you that my mate, his pack and I are all going to die!" I shout at her. A confused expression crosses her face.
"Mate?" She whispers and I nod my head angrily, I don't now why I said that aloud. Crap. "Oh dear god what have I done?" She says.
"Um, Malagoria is it?" Colton asks, unsure.
"Mal, just Mal." She replies.
"I think it might be best if my mate and I have a quick talk, I have mind linked my beta to take you to a guest bedroom for the meantime." She nods quietly. Seconds later Jackson appears at the door. He stops, frozen while staring at Mal.
"Mine." He growls and hugs Mal.
"Um, Mr Asshole Sir? You don't want me as a mate." Mal says.
"Hmm, where have I heard that before?" Colton whispers in my ear.
"How about you two love birds take this somewhere else?" I ask, Jackson nods and throws Mal over his shoulder before walking out with her kicking and screaming.
"What the hell dude! You don't just throw people over your shoulders!" I hear Mal screaming in the background.
"So, you are not going to let them take the bond away?" Colton asks.
"I don't really know yet. Part of me still wants to tear your pack apart while the other part wants to stay with you. And then there is my wolf." I say. "But I don't think I want to stay in wolf form for the rest of eternity either, so I think I will stay and fight."
To hell you are! Ida shouts in my head.
What's your problem anyway? When you first came all you wanted was Colton and now all you want is to leave him. I yell back.
Of course I don't want to leave him Allison, but these are the people I grew up with before my spirit found yours. She explains. I cant just kill them.
Yeah well as much as I want to murder the pack brutally, we are standing up to these white wolves whether you like it or not. She nods in submission.
But I wont be fighting physically, I just wont stop you. Ida says.
Thank you Ida, we wont fight with them unless they attack first. Do you know when they are coming so we can at least be prepared. I ask.
Today, today at midnight. My eyes widen at this. That is not enough time it is already lunch.
"Call a meeting, I need to speak with the pack urgently." I yell at Colton who is looking confused before running off to find Mal. "Now Colton unless you want your pack to die!" I shout over my shoulder. I open the door where Mal's scent is strongest.
"Hate to break up your kissing session but we have a problem." I say to the couple who break apart at the sound of my voice.
"What happened?" Mal asks. Jackson's face pales, it looks like he got Colton's mind link.
"Come on Mal." He whispers and they take off behind me. When we reach the clearing they go off into the crowd while I make my way up on stage.
"Alright everyone shut up!" I yell. "Ok, so tonight the white wolves are arriving here at midnight. We need to be ready for when they arrive because when they do, I don't think it is going to be for tea and cookies. I want all the pup's in the safest place you can think of along with the injured, sick, elderly and the pregnant. I also want five guards down there two with a lot of weapons with everyone who can use one. Everyone else you have been taught basic techniques, and I hope it is enough. Our aim is to protect the people is the hideout and our pack! I know most of you still hate me but put that hate aside for the time being. Be honest right now, who are my archers and shooters? I ask, my archers have been taught that way because they haven't shifted yet. A few people put their hands up.
"Ok Mal are you alright with supplying scent hiding potions for them? Along with fire bombs for their arrows?" I ask and she nods her head. "You guys are going to be hidden in trees, along the pack house and in the pack house. If you see a white wolf who isn't me you shoot. Left wing hands up!" Everyone from the left wing unit puts their hands up. "You guys will be supplied with strength, scent hiding and courage potions. It is your job to keep the left side of the house clear. Same with the right wing but on the right side of the house! Centre unit, you guys are our main fighters you are to keep these wolves away. We have a werewolf hunter who hunts hunters, a werewolf hunter who hunted werewolves and the strongest witch alive on our side. We are also the strongest pack in America! Colton has already called on other packs to help and by the end of the day we should have five more packs here to help! We are not only fighting for our lives but for the lives of the white wolfs future victims. We are fighting for our pride. And most importantly we are fighting for the lives of our loved ones!" I shout and fist pump the air at the end. The crowd erupts into cheers, some yelling go Luna! But the one everyone eventually joins into is.
'MARKED ASSASSIN!'
'MARKED ASSASSIN!'
'MARKED ASSASSIN!'
A smile spreads across my face.
They accept me.
And I think I might just accept them too.
