My hands start to shake when I'm told to give my speech. Right now I was at my bestfriends wedding. Of course I was happy for him but it should've been me.. "Lizzie?" "Hmm oh right sorry" "hi I'm Lizzie the bestman.. Well bestwoman in this case" I laughed and so did everyone in the room. I took a deep breath. "Choosing a person you want to share you life with is one of the most important decisions any of us makes ever because when it's wrong it turns your life to grey and sometimes, sometimes you don't even notice until you wake up one morning and realise the years have gone by, we both know about that one Luke, your friendship has brought glorious colour to my life it's been there even in the darkest of times and I am the luckiest person alive I hope I didn't take it for granted and I think I did because I didn't see that the best thing to happen to me is sitting in front of me" I was crying now and I wiped my eyes. " i love you Luke" I said and the room went silent like I was confessing my love for him and Bethany glared at me. "Like a sister loves her brother" I said almost cringing at the thought. Luke looked at me with hurt? But then it was gone. "To Bethany and Luke" I cheered holding my glass up. Everyone cheered and clinked glasses" once everyone was distracted I got up to get some fresh air outside.
I held onto the railing taking a deep shaky breath. I felt tears rolling down my face silently. I jumped when I felt hands on my shoulders. "Liz?" "Jesus Luke" I said hand on my heart. "You frightened the shit out of me" I laughed wiping my eyes. "Sorry.. Are you okay?" He ask concerned. "Yeah hay fever.. You know.." I lied and he nodded not believing me. "Can you believe that I'm married?" He asked a huge grin on his face and shocked eyes. "Nope" I shook my head feeling sad. You should be with me.. I thought what about the fact you cheated on you now wife with me.. I was still angry i said in my head wanting so badly to say it to him.
"Want a beer?" He asked I nodded taking it and almost downing the hole thing. "I'm glad you came" he said bringing me into a hug. "Your the bestest friend anyone could have" he whispered and I felt my heart .
"No Luke I've had enough heartbreaks.. I'm not okay" I said sounding weaker than I intended. "What?" "You! You slept with me left me a note that said it was NICE and got married! Did you even consider how I was feeling maybe about the fact I was in love with you? No you didn't because you got married anyway...but as long as your happy.. I'm happy" I said trying to sound convincing "we probaley won't see each other for a while I need to get over you..I hope you have a good life Luke" I said tears streaming down my face now I kiss his cheek and hugged him lingering for a bit "I love you" I whispered and turned and walked away
