Edited on:Ahaana's POV
I had finally managed to pick out the perfect saree. After much debating with my mom, my eyes finally fell on the saree I would wear tonight for Jhanvi and Nikhil's wedding. As the shopkeeper was packing it up, I sat there waiting for him to be done. Oh no! I forgot I had to tell my future to be khadus husband. I sigh and pull out my phone and decide to tell him now, before I forget and my mom erupts at me.I pick up my phone from the dresser and I slide through the screen. I scroll through my contacts looking for "😈" That's what I had customed for khadus's name. It actually suits him perfectly. I had changed it right after the dinner disaster. I reluctantly call him. He picks up after what seems to be forever.
"Who is this?" He asked in his always, khadus voice.
"Um... your fiancé? You don't even have the decency to add my name into your contacts?" I snapped as I rolled my eyes.
"Oh god, now you are even stalking me up with my number? Will you ever leave me alone?" He groaned.
"Oye hello! I am not interested in talking all lovey dovey with you here. I had called to tell you something."
"What?" He snapped.
"Today, it's my friend'd wedding and you're accompanying me. I would have NEVER in a million years call you, but you know my mom-"
"Excuse me? I am not accompanying you anywhere! Today is my best friend's wedding day too and I'll be busy there. In fact, I was going to call you to accompany me, but now, I guess that's not needed." I could already tell he was smiling over the phone. I mean c'mon, I had dated this guy for like... How long, 2 years?
"Oh great, have fun." And before I could say another word, he hung up on me. Khadus.

I walked downstairs and outside to the car while adjusting my sari. I sat in the back seat as the driver reversed the car out of the driveway. My parents were also going to be there at the wedding, since last time we met at the mall, my mom and Anita Aunty, Roshni's mom became best of friends. Oh lord! And then they invited us. The next thing you know, our dads are best friends! It was like our family's had known each other for years!
The driver drove me to the wedding hall in silence. I got down once I reached there and readjusted my sari and hair. I walked inside and looked around. All I saw were unfamiliar faces. And then I spotted Anita Aunty. She looked beautiful! She was standing with my mom and they were laughing over something. I made my way over to them.
"Namaste Anita Aunty." I greeted flashing her a smile.
"Namaste Ahaana." She flashed back a smile.
"You look beautiful." She glanced up and down at me.
"Thanks Aunty. Uh... Where's Jhanvi?"
"She must be upstairs, go." She pointed to the grand staircase. I nodded and turned to run up the stairs. I was running towards the bridal room without looking when I crashed into someone. Ouch. I shut my eyes close already expecting to fall. But then I felt a rough, cold hand on my bare waist which saved me from falling. I shot my eyes open. It can't be. No way.
