Summer's End

By the end of summer Crown Acres had become quite. Tensions were increased after emails of rage were sent around, and it drug almost every family into the mess. The mess that ultimately Amelia and I created, or was it just her.

Sasha's parents were ostracized for their "awful parenting," and I didn't see Sasha for weeks.

The terrible three were quiet too, which wasn't out of the ordinary, but it did make me apprehensive.

I was also lucky to meet our neighbors, and her daughter Ashley. Their last name was Hirei, and I had to ask what nationality that was from. Apparently it's Japanese, but they looked more Italian. Ashley's parents were both lawyers so she was alone most of her time as well, but she had a younger brother to annoy she said. I was very excited to learn more about Ashley and hope to build a continual bond between Amelia and her.

Ever since the neighborhood party I didn't see Amelia much. She always told me she had something come up or that she was busy.

Tomorrow would be the first day of my sophomore year, and I was ready. A part of me wanted to enact our analysis of the handwriting while the other part of me wanted to see the terrible three together and how they would react around Amelia and I after the incident. I wanted them to know we were never going to give up.

Ashley and her brother would also go to my school, and I felt it was my chance to indoctrinate her to the terrible three before they got to her. After Amelia and I earned her trust we would begin to tell her about what happened, and who we suspect did it all.

I got to thinking about this year's summer and it only wore me out. To see how much damage one summer caused, I couldn't imagine what would happen if we found the culprit. It was from my deep thinking that I came up with the strategy of playing it safe, in hopes the culprit wouldn't catch on. I did however want to find the culprit and really beat into them, but I knew that wouldn't get me anywhere, so my safety strategy was best.

I didn't know what sophomore year would have waiting for me, but with Amelia and Ashley by my side, I felt a glint of hope.
