Tony and I went out to see my Father in Park. I hadn't seen him in a long time.

"Father!"

"Oy Garret!"

We embraced each other and were so overwhelmed with emotion.

He had aged a lot since I saw him last, and that was four years ago. My mother's death and his three heart attacks had taken their toll.

After dinner he took me down to his gym.

"Come, we'll talk while I pedal.." He told me pedaling was good for his heart.

"So, tell me, how is life?"

His words were dry and laboured. I felt heavy with guilt and at the same time craving for revenge. I've rotted under Ivan's wing for four years, without even knowing my Father went through multiple heart attacks.

We talked for hours and as the clock ticked by, I was getting even more worried. I was going to be late for my "interview".

"I'll come back in a few hours, 'kay dad?"

Father walked me to the porch and placed his hand on my shoulder, "Take care,"

I then walked out of the house to catch a taxi to the subway station. I was already ten minutes behind schedule.
