Katarina's POV
"Places ladies!" Shouts our dance instructor.
"Katarina! Mask now!" I cringe at her harsh tone.
"Yes Madam." I reply while grabbing my black lace mask and wrapping it around my head. I take a deep breathe. This is it. This is the day I've been waiting for. 21 years of waiting.
"Katarina! Stage!" Madam Cynthia yells.
I run to my place which is dead center. I place my arms above my head, tilting my face to the right.
I watch the curtains open, and hear the applause echo and the music start to play. I stand my ground in the center until it is my turn to go. Then the song picks up and there's my que! I extend into an arabesque. I slowly bend my knee and leap in the air, landing on my feet gracefully. I pirouette multiple times, using all the emotions I endure on a daily basis to fuel my power.
The audience is a blur, my fellow dancers all just moving bodies. All I feel is myself floating, my body alive with the music and I feel the strength radiating off of me.
The song changes and here is where my true abilities come forth. I can tell the audience is mesmerized by the satin fabric dangling from the ceiling. Prepare yourselves I think. I make my way to the back of the stage, my fellow dancers on opposite sides of the fabric, each kneeling and softly moving their arms. I make my graceful run up the stage and leap onto the fabric, winding myself within the fabric. I twirl and stretch my limbs. I make sure the fabric is wrapped around my arms and legs securely before readying myself for the many drops and dangerous turns. The crowd is eerily silent but I don't let that effect me. I focus on my dancing. I let the music take me, allowing me to flow fluidly with the fabric. The song nears its end, the dancers below start making their final turns and leaps and I take a deep breath before I let myself drop and stop myself mere inches above the stage.
The crowd erupts with applause and praises. I unwind myself from the fabric, take my place back on stage and make my way off.
Madam Cynthia makes her way on stage to thank everyone for coming out and for watching her new proteges make their debut. I can't help but smile and jump up and down with the girls.
"That was unbelievable!" My friend Lilly says.
"Oh my god my heart is still racing!!" Mika replied with her French accent.
I laugh. "I feel so alive."
"BITCH WE ARE ALIVE!" Carla says while jumping in the air causing us all to laugh.
We all stop talking when the most gorgeous man I have ever seen walks backstage.
I can't seem to move. My eyes fixated on this gorgeous creature. His chocolate brown hair is cut short on the sides and kept long on top in a slicked back style. His face is perfectly sculpted, from his unbelievably ocean blue eyes to his defined nose and cheekbones, his lips are perfectly plump and pouty and oh so kissable and his jaw. Dear god that jaw could slice my finger with a single touch. His height is way above 6 ft but his body is muscular and sculpted. I could tell just by how his suit fits him.
"The girl." He states.
We all break away from our daze. "Excuse me?" I answer.
His eyes widen slightly. "You." He says while making his way towards me. I back away slightly stunned and a little afraid.
"Come with me." He says while dragging me by my arm.
"Let me go!" I say while trying to pull my arm free. Instead of breaking free he pushes me up against a wall, his glowing blue eyes silencing me.
