4) Home Isn't Home

I held onto my stuffed car for dear life. Mommy said we were moving to a new house in Minnesota. She said daddy always wanted to move there. Even when they were in high school they wanted to. She said his dream was to be a CEO of a big company there.

When mommy brought us here she said she had already packed our stuff and brought us. We were sleeping for two weeks. I know because Miley told me.
I sat on my bed. Mommy had some people paint my room purple with silver and gold diamonds. My blanket and pillow are batman. I have a few joker and Harley Quinn pillows.

Mommy said she would be back in a few minutes to tuck me in. She had to make sure Miley and Aidan were asleep. I looked at the joker clock next to my bed, 9:40. I'm supposed to be asleep by 9:30. Daddy always said if I wanted to be smart and pretty I had to be asleep before 10:00.

I slide out from under my blanket and run downstairs to where mommy would be. Mommy and daddy were always in living room after we were sent to bed.

I ran into the room and stopped. There was a man kissing mommy like how daddy did. He held her by her waist and she had her arms wrapped around his neck. This was how mommy and daddy were. Aidan and I loved seeing mommy and daddy happy. But this was not right. "he's not daddy!" I yell.

They look at me shocked. "what are you doing awake Amber?" mom asks. "your hurting daddy! Daddy lived you!" I scream. She does the thing she's never done before. She slaps me. I cry and hold my cheek.

I run upstairs and open Aidan's door. He looks like he's sleeping so I close the door softly and run to his bed. "Aidan." I whisper. He turns so he's facing me. "Amber what's wrong?" he asks as he sits up. "mommy hit me. She had a man over and was kissing him how she kissed daddy." I tell him before I broke down into tears. He held while whispering sweet nothings into my ear.

"Aidan can I stay here tonight? This isn't my home." I say. He sighs and hugs me. "you can stay here but this is our home now." he says and he grabs my spare joker blanket from his closet.
