I sit at my desk looking down at my algebra homework. "stupid work." I mutter. I look over to the only picture I keep on my desk. It's a picture of dad, mom, Miley, Aidan, and I.
Dads been dead for seven years now. Mom's only home once a month. Miley left us when we turned fourteen.
Now she's off in Colorado with her boyfriend. "hey Amber where are you?" Aidan yells. "I'm in my room." I say. Aidans the only family I have left.
The thing about me and Aidan is that we know when each others hurt or sad. We used to look alike except I dyed my hair blue while Aidans is still brown.
He's the popular jock and I'm the emo outcast. Aidan cares more about school than girls. The surprising thing is that Aidan would rather be with me than with sluts.
"I'm gonna go get some bacon pepperoni pizza." he yells. Bacon pepperoni is our favorite. We are similar but very different.
I sigh and look outside. I see two little kids playing swords. There's an older sister laughing and recording them while the parents smile and watch.
Their perfect.
