Veronica's POV:

After an hour or so of crying and just laying on my bed like a lump of nothing, I kicked off my combat boots and took out my phone from my pockets. I had 3 missed calls and 10 messages, and they were all from Kyle.

I couldn't help but smile at the fact that he was worried about me and wanted to know how everything went with my mom. Threw the pain and tears, he brought happiness into my life. He was the sunshine to my rainy days.

After reading his messages, I replied telling him to leave his window open and that I would be going over in 20 minutes.

He replied with a heart eye emoji, making me laugh really loud.

I jumped out of bed and took a warm shower, after I was done I wrapped my hair in a towel and put on my black sweat pants, a white v-neck, and the matching black sweater. I didn't even bother putting on shoes, I just threw on some thick fuzzy socks.

After letting my hair loose, I sprayed my vanilla mist, grabbed my phone and opened my window as I began climbing down the big tree that was right in front of my window.

Landing on the ground safely, I made my way towards kyle's house not before stopping by the living room window, taking in the image before me.

My mom was thrown on the floor, crying her eyes out as black mascara stained her cheeks. She switched her martini glass for a bottle of vodka.

I shook my head, feeling a sting of sadness in my heart and I began walking again towards Kyle's window.

Once I was in front of Kyle's house I was suddenly aware I missed a tiny little detail. Kyle had his room upstairs too and sadly there was no tree allowing me to climb up.

I mentally slapped myself, I can be so air headed sometimes.

I pulled out my phone and told Kyle to quickly come get me outside.

After 5 minutes of waiting for him to show up, he finally did wearing grey sweatpants and his bare chest exposed for the world to see.

HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THINGS GOOD

I was drooling and taking in the beautiful sight before me when he snapped me back to reality with his laughter.

I crinkled my eyebrows in confusion "what's so funny?" I asked with a stomp to the ground.

He began laughing again and this time it was really loud.

I looked around making sure my mom wasn't in hearing sight as I made my way towards him, covering his mouth with my hand and guiding us towards the inside of his house.

I closed the door shut and again he began laughing even more. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Okay one: I was waiting for you to realize that there was no way you could clime up to my window without a latter or tree. Second: cute socks" he said as he wiggled his eyebrows at me

"They look so sexy on you"

I slapped his arm and began laughing too, "God you didn't even bother telling me! I feel so stupid and here I was trying to be adventurous"
