The man was walking quickly toward the end of my bed. My eyes locked in terror, I couldn’t move my eyes, even if I wanted to. The dark cloak covered the majority of his face. But I could see the torn lips. The blood dripping down his face. “Faye...” His voice deep and hoarse. I mentally shivered. I dared not to move. “Faye!” He said more urgently.

“Faye! Wake up!” I open my eyes, startled. Sam shaking my shoulders. I quickly grab my blankets and pull them to my chest. I looked at the alarm clock next to my bed. It was only two in the morning.

“Are you alright?” I looked at Sam. He was sitting on the end of my bed. I shook my head. Still unable to speak. That dude was fucking creepy!

“You were screaming.” He said quietly.

“Hey, is everything alright?” Mel walked in, her purple robe wrapped around her body. By now I had found my voice.

“Yeah.” I say quietly. But she see through to the truth. Like she always does.

“Was is another nightmare?” She asks, now standing next to Sam looking me in the eyes. I just nodded. Scared to death. How come I was the one who ended up with the nightmares? Sam wrapped his arms around me. I swear we were the closest pair of siblings ever.

(later at school.)

“Hey!” Mel yelled as Sam and her walked down the hall. Holding hands. Of course. I flinched at the volume. I had a headache from my nightmare last night. Mel walked right up to me. And nudged my arm. "Hey, look at the cute boy over there." She points to the corner between the lockers and the wall. I nod. He was pretty cute. Pretty tall too... From what I could tell he was pretty toned.

“There goes the bell!” Sam says. He was always about being punctual. Luckily, my english class was right next to my locker. So I didn’t have far to go. As I walk into my classroom I watch the new guy walk in as well. Wonderful, another cute boy who won’t even waste a second talking to me. I sit down in my seat and look to the front of the room as the teacher directs the new boy to the only empty seat in the class... The one right next to me. He sits down, give me a quick nod, and begins to doodle on a little notepad he had. I tried to pay no attention.

About half way through the class period I hear a whispering.

“Faye......” I looked around. It’s nothing... Right? All the kids who usually picked on me, they were all passed out on their desks.

“Faye... Help me...” The whispers continued. Finally I gave up looking around the room. I looked back down at my paper. My pen was moving quickly. But no one was touching it. It read You did this. Now fix it. I shake my head. What the hell kind of joke was this? I looked down at my feet. Not watching my desk anymore. And what I saw, sent shivers down my spine. Dark shoes, torn pants... Blood dripping! My entire body froze. I slowly lifted my head. There it was! The creature with the clock, and the torn mouth. The blood..

“Fayyyeeee....” He whispered. Suddenly I felt a strong grip on my arm. I felt my body torn away from my desk. But my eyes didn’t move. And neither did the creature. Finally, I feel myself running down the hall. Being dragged by an unfamiliar hand. My body still in shock, I was thrown into a car, I looked up. It was the new guy! He quickly threw the seat belt across my body and buckled me in. He got in the drivers seat and tore out of the parking lot.

“Who are you?” I finally got the feeling back in my body.

“My name is Xavier. I’m here to help. Your name is Faye?” He greens eyes full of intensity as we raced down the road.

“Yeah.” I said cautiously. “How’d you know?”

“I heard the dark one say it.” He said simply. Like this was something he did on a regular basis.

“The dark one? Like the man in the cloak?”

“Yupp. That one exactly.”

“You mean, you see him too?!” I asked. Getting excited, because either I wasn’t crazy. Or we were both out of our minds crazy.

“Yes, I do.” And that was all the conversation we had for the rest of the car ride, to nowhere.
