Harper's Pov
I pulled back the curtains as the sun entered my room. It was pretty calm out this morning, a perfect day to walk on the beach. I was in charge of dropping Braydon off at his friend's house today for a birthday party.
So I got ready by straightening my hair and doing my makeup using spring colors, such as light colors and nudes. I pulled a white tank and grey three quarter sleeved cardigan out of my closet and put them on, along with a pair of blue jean leggings.
"Bub, you ready to go?" I shouted across the hall.
"Yep!" He jumped into my room, wearing a batman costume.
"Are you sure that it's a costume party Braydon?"
"Mommy said that I could wear whatever I want...Harper." He crossed his arms.
"Yeah, well, I'm sure that Mom didn't mean that you could wear that." I said referring to his costume.
"Fine..." The nine year old stomped off to his room, "But I'm still wearing my cape!"
I grabbed my car keys and headed down stairs to grab an apple. "Hurry up! We're gonna be late." I looked at my phone and it said 11:00 a.m. The party was in thirty minutes, luckily his friend's house was just a couple streets down from ours. I planned on dropping him off and then going to go dance.
He came running down the staircase with a blue T-shirt on and jeans, with his cape on still. "Do you want breakfast?"
"Nope! I gotta save room for cake." He chuckled deviously.
"Come on weirdo, it's time to go." We both headed out the door and hopped into the car.
"You have to sit in the back Braydon." I argued with him.
"Why?" He opened the passengers door.
"Because it's the law and you being batman have to be a law abiding citizen."
"But I'm the hero and rules don't apply to me." He smirked.
"That sounds more like the villain than the hero." I told him, "Back. Now." I pointed to the back seat.
He hopped out of the car and went to the back seat. "I hope you know that I'm not happy with you right now." He buckled his seat belt as I began driving.
"That's okay...you'll get over it." I braked at the stop sign before hitting the gas pedal again.
A couple minutes later and we were at his friend's house, "Remember, Mom will be picking you up on her way home from work."
"Okay, okay." He hopped out of the car while I rolled down my window.
"Have fun, Love you!" I added.
He whipped his head back around, "Geez Harper shut up, you're embarrassing me."
I chuckled, rolled my window back up and backed out of the driveway onto the road again. The song Black Magic came on over the radio and I hummed along to it.
