Lessons finished fast maybe because the lessons were super boring. We fixed our things in our bags and looked for Arielle, who went to the lockers outside the classroom to get some afternoon books. We saw her fixing her morning books inside according to their height. She locked her locker and hid the key inside her skirt pocket.

“Hey!” Sam approached. “Want to grab some lunch?”

“No, I’m fine.” Arielle smiled. “I’m still full.”

“I doubt that.” I supposed. “Your muffin was crushed awhile ago when Stacie ‘greeted’ you.”

“I really don’t have money.” She sighed. “It’s okay; I’ll live ‘til our last subject ends.”

“Nope, you won’t. Believe me.” Leo assured. “We’ll be having Physical Education and Mathematics, deadly subjects.”

“Indeed!”  Sam and I agreed.

“Eh? But I don’t have mon—” Arielle didn’t finish. We dragged her down the school cafeteria, got our lunch, and sat on a table near the window (Our favorite spot!). Let me explain, the school cafeteria, a big room with wooden floor and long rectangular tables with built-in chairs, is found on the ground and second floor. It is divided into two, the ground floor where you could buy your food and eat while the second floor has space where you could enjoy eating with your friends in an eco-friendly environment that looks like a garden, only inside a big air conditioned room sealed with glass that is.

We all ate except Arielle, who was staring blankly at her plate.

“Eat up!” I said.

“Ah no, I don’t have money.” She frowned.

“Don’t worry it’s our treat.” Sam smiled. “Just eat, Lunch break will end soon.”

“Better eat than be hungry, you know.” Leo chuckled.

We ate for a while and finished fast. We talked and laughed until our hearts burst and our stomachs ached. Everything was perfectly fine not until Stacie and her friends came walking by. They were giggling about something when their mood suddenly shifted.

“Well, well, well! Look who’s here, Ms. Violent was it?” Stacie teased as the other girls giggled.

“What do you want, Stacie?” Leo sighed.

“Nothing much, Squirt! Now mind your own business!” She shouted then laughed.

She stopped and stared at Arielle who wasn’t really paying her any attention. Then she noticed Arielle’s drink, Coca Cola, and grinned. She went close and got her jug.

“Coke? Are you serious? Only wimps drink that!” She started.

“Stacie, not here.” Candz whispered. “Let’s not make anything flashy.”

“Do you want some of my lemonade made from the best lemons found in Italy?” She boasted.

“Nah, I don’t drink things only witches do.” Arielle casually replied, gulping her Coke up.

A few students laughed. Some whispered. But one thing was sure, everybody was staring at us. Stacie got mad. Her face turned red, cherry red actually. She got her jug, opened it and spilled it on Arielle’s head. She got drenched, lemonade dripped from her hair and we thought she was going to burst out in tears. But we were wrong. Arielle stood up, faced Stacie and flipped her tray. Every food on Stacie’s tray went straight to her dress. She was a mess, in short. She cried and ran out the cafeteria, straight to the comfort room, with her friends rushing to her aid.

“Cry baby.” Arielle muttered.

Everybody cheered. No one in history ever stood up to Stacie’s reign, not until now that is. We were congratulating her with handshakes and smiles but she was still drenched with lemonade.

“Here let us help you.” Leo held her hand and pulled her to another comfort room. “Indz, go get her extra uniform in her locker.”

I ran to their side, rummaged through Arielle’s skirt pocket and got the key. “Sure! Be back in a jiffy!” I then rushed to Arielle’s locker.

“I’ll come with you, Leo!” Sam dashed to his side. “I’ll help her change, we are girls after all.”

Leo and I waited outside the girl’s comfort room. We were talking about the old memories we had during Grade school. We had a lot of fun until Sam and Arielle came out. She was fine. She changed clothes and tidied up just in time before the bell rang. We rushed to our classroom and sat right up. Then our next teacher came in. It was Physical Education, the most tiring subject you’ll ever encounter.
