Brendon POV
“I couldn’t do it.”
“What do you mean you couldn’t do it!? All you had to do was make googly eyes at her!” Bridgette was mad, really mad.
“You know what Bridgette I’m tired of your crap! What has Sadie ever done to deserve this?!” Brendon yelled, “I’m done! You have been treating everyone here like dirt and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore!”
He stared at Bridgette’s shocked face, breathing heavily. She was beautiful, she understood him, and he would have forgiven her if it weren’t for what she said next,
“Fine then,” she sniffled, “I needed a new cohort anyways.”
“A cohort? That’s what you think of me as?” Brendon questioned softly.
Bridgette hesitated, and then nodded her eyes cold.
Then Brendon said something he never thought he would, “you are a total bitch.”
Bridgette looked like she’d been slapped in the face. “I think it’s time people knew you little secret,” and with that she marched off, leaving Brendon standing there wondering what he ever saw in her.
Sadie POV
The weeks went by double time, Halloween, Christmas and New years all past by in a flash. Before I knew it I was with Leslie, Madison and Miranda signing the decoration committee sheet for the spring fling.
“It’s going to so fun!” Madison squealed.
“If I can help it this will be the best spring fling yet,” Miranda said grabbing the pen from me.
Leslie scribbled down her name, “Hey, maybe Bridgette will donate a bunch of money to the dance, her parents are rich right?”
I snorted, “Ya, ‘cause she’s just miss generosity.”
Bridgette POV
I’m not mean, am I? She asked herself. Bridgette made fun of people a lot, but her mom did that all the time and no one called her mean... well not to her face.
She’d heard people call her bossy, she did kind of order people around but her dad did that and all it got him was money.
So she couldn’t be doing anything wrong, right? She thought of Brendon and pulled out her phone. The text was there, written ready to be sent. It would ruin his life, which he would deserve because of what he’d said to her.
But what about what she’d said to him? She felt a pang of guilt, she’d called him a cohort. But he wasn’t just a follower, or partner. He was her friend, and she’d hurt his feelings.
Her parents always said not to get close to people, now she knew why.
Lucas POV
He’d been the laughing stalk of the school since the Damien incident. He still had his friends, and they were on his side but... he didn’t know how much more of it he could take.
Every time he went to the bathroom someone was there to say, ‘Hurry, we don’t want another accident like last time.’
Everyone laughed at him, everyone teased him, and everyone thought he actually peed himself, everyone except for his friends.
“Ready?” Madison asked.
He nodded and they headed to the cafeteria. Oh god not these guys again, he thought as a group of seniors rounded the corner. Most people would have forgotten by now if it wasn’t for these idiots.
