It was a pretty warm day for Brooklyn, New York; especially because fall is coming and it was chilly yesterday. Well I was walking through in the park on August 28, 2011 when it became quite windy and clouds starting covering the sky pretty fast and they where dark too.
I was wasn't sure what was happening but I was almost thirty minutes from home knowing I wouldn't be able to run back; I decided to look for shelter and look for it fast. It came to the point to where the clouds where almost pitch black and it started to rain; slow at first then it was like hail the size of golf balls where falling from the sky. Police officers and firefighters where directing everyone to shelter. I could hear the wind blowing through the trees some of them falling around me. There was some much stuff going on it was like it was almost a dream but I knew it wasn't; I knew it was real I was just to scared to realize it.
I remember hearing that there was hurricane down in the Bahamas and than it went north to the Carolina's then to southeastern Virginia. I didn't watch the news this morning but I did hear a few people talking about how the tropical storm made its way into Little Egg Inlet southeastern New Jersey today. I just wasn't thinking it would make it here to New York. I started to cry and have mental break down. I have never been in a hurricane in the 14 years of me living; I guess there's a first for every thing. Right?
