The Dangerous Mission

(Stein's POV)
When i told Marie that we had a mission tonight, her face lit up. I didn't understand why, but i went along with it.

(Later that night and still Stein's POV)

When it was time to go, Marie walked to my side in a yellow sundress. I didn't understand, so i asked her. "Hey Marie?" "Yes?" She replied, "why are you wearing a sundress when we're going on a mission?"

(Marie's POV)
As soon as i heard Stein ask that i asked, "do you not like it?" He looked surprised, but said, "no, it flatters your curves nicely, but i don't understand. That dress is not practical for a mission." I smiled, 'did he just give me a compliment?' I wondered. "Well, I'd like to look nice. Is that illegal or something?" I joked, but he looked seriously at me and said, "no, it's not illegal, why would you be doing it if it was illegal?" I sighed, "it was a joke Stein." He looked confused for a second, but shrugged it off.

(When they got to the Kishin Egg and Marie's POV)

I saw the Kishin before Stein did and tried to warn him, but it was too late. I felt a leathery arm wrap around my small torso, and i was yanked backwards away from Stein and i was in the air. I gasped in fright, 'what am i going to do now?' Then i saw Stein's hand start giving off electric sparks. I tried to cry out 'no' but the air was being squeezed from my lungs. I couldn't warn him in time, and in a frightening moment of slow motion, I saw his wavelength hit the Kishin egg. Then, i heard a shocked gasp from Stein as his wavelength traveled up he Kishin egg's arm and hit me. It felt as though a million knives had stabbed through my whole body. I cried out with pain as i felt the arm release me, and i started to fall.

(Stein's POV)
I saw Marie start to fall and ran to catch her. I thankfully reached her in time and caught her as i sat down. I held her upper torso in my lap and felt something wet slide down my cheeks. 'Am I crying?' I wondered, 'i thought all of my tears were dried up.' I felt my body rack with sobs as i saw Marie's eyes open just the slightest. "I... have to.... tell you something.... before....i can't anymore." She whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. "What is it Marie?" I prodded, "Stein I.......I Love........" but she blacked out before she could finish her sentence. I sobbed again and thought to myself, 'was she going to say that she loved me?' Then i felt a warm, sort of fuzzy feeling spread throughout my whole body. 'What is this feeling?' I wondered to myself, 'is this...... Love?'
