The Sad Truth

(Marie's POV)

My mind was completely blank when I felt Stein come closer to me. Then, my whole world changed when he kissed me. I couldn't even think! When he pulled away, I'm pretty sure he saw the completely shocked look on my face, because he chuckled at me and took my hand. That's when I broke out of my daze. I smiled so big it felt like my cheeks were going to split! I then walked back home with Stein.

(Time skip to about 2 years later and still Marie's POV)

Me and Stein delivered the last blow needed on the witch, and all that was left was a purple soul floating in the air. Stein looked at me and smiled, "Marie, once you eat this you'll finally become a death scythe." I grinned and took the soul, "I know." I said, and ate it. I felt the beat, and then the power i felt was unlike anything I'd ever felt before. Then, it was over. Just like that. I looked at Stein and he just grinned.

(Time skip to the next day at the school and still Marie's POV)

I went to Lord Death to let him know that we'd accomplished the requirements needed to become a death scythe. I told him, and he said, "Oh! Well that's wonderful Marie! As promised, i will make you my weapon." I smiled and simply skipped back to Stein.

(Time skip to a month later and STILL Marie's POV)

I was called in to see Lord Death just now, and I was a little nervous. Stein and I had become Boyfriend and girlfriend the day after I became an official death scythe. He even gave me a little symbolic ring. I sighed and told myself not to think about it. When I got to the death room, I saw my friend Spirit standing there! I ran to him and hugged him, and he said, "Oh! Hey Marie. Um, you should talk to Lord Death. He has something important to tell you." I stopped hugging Spirit and looked straight at Lord Death. "Hello hello!" He exclaimed in his usual cheery voice, "Lord Death sir, if you have something truly important to tell me, please do." I said, becoming a little impatient. "Well, to be honest Marie....I have to reassign you to Oceana." He said. I gasped in utter shock. 'Oceana? I mean, it is very comfortable and doesn't require much work, but REASSIGN???? Oh no..... Stein can't come with me......' I thought, I just nodded at Lord Death and asked, "When do I leave?" He looked sad for a second and calmly said, "in about 20 minutes." I nodded and proceeded to run back home to Stein, who was sitting at the kitchen table reading a book. He put it down as soon as he saw my sad face. "Uh oh, what's wrong Marie?" Stein asked, genuinely concerned because i was never sad. I sadly said, "i-I've been reassigned to Oceana." He looked shocked, and then just had no emotion at all but anger. "I-I don't CARE!!!" He screamed at me in utter shock and anger. I gasped, and put the ring on the table. He looked at it once, then looked at my completely shocked face and said, "Marie....I..." I started crying and ran. I didn't look back, no matter how many times I heard Stein call my name....
