It's been days upon weeks that i've caught you drifting off next to me. I've seen you fall asleep more than anyone on this planet, and in every head bob and eyelid droop, i fell in love with you.
Every time you woke up and you turned to me and smiled because you knew i caught you, and we'd laugh, i was falling in love with you.
Every time i watched your long eyelashes flutter and close, every time i saw your lips resting gently, i was falling deeper and deeper.
I realized when you woke up, though, that i was falling in love with the wrong thing. Your words, actions, and touches never reached me. I fell for the idea of you, but i'm so deep in i can't climb out
i dont want a bone, throw me a rope.
I used to welcome your sleep, but now all i want is mine.
