"Like hell I'd do that" Kailen grunted. The knocks on the door grew louder, and more rapid.
"Kailen...let. Me. In." The voice said, firmer. Kailen hung up.
"This is a problem that we need to take care of" Arlathen sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Let me handle it." I stood up.
"Pan...look, that's not a good idea-"
"Let me handle it!" I said, walking over to the door.
"If she opens it I swear..." Corey murmured.
"Who is it?" I yelled at the door.
"Pan! It's so good to hear your voice." Jake. Shit. Holy fucking shit.
"Go away. How did you even get here?" I glared through the door.
"I heard your ferry crashed, so I came to make sure you were ok."
"How long have you been here?" I asked, still holding the hate in my voice.
"A few hours..." Phew, so he wasn't a survivor...yet.
"Get out of here!" I yelled, and I ran back to the table. Instead of quiet though, the knocks got louder, and turned into bangs, which was soon accompanied by screaming. Emotions rushed through me, and before I could stop myself, I broke into sobs. Everyone just stared at me until Senlark walked over and put his arm around me.
"I'm gonna go take her upstairs, I'm assuming you guys can handle this?"
Arlathen solemnly nodded. Senlark walked me up the stairs and sat me down on a dirtied arm chair.
"He....that guy....he...." I tried to tell Senlark what happened, but I broke into a fit of sobs again. Senlark sympathetically rubbed my back.
"It's ok, you can let it out. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." God, this guy was amazing. Everything I ever looked for in someone. Unfortunately, I doubted he would return the feelings.
"Well, I kinda need to get this off my chest" I sighed.
"Shoot"
"Well, that guy....right before I crashed here...well...." I started sniffling again. Why did tragedy always have to happen to me? Most guys would have given up by now and just walked out. I was waiting for Senlark to the same, but instead, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him.
"It's ok...." He said, soothingly.
"That guy's a monster! He tried to rape me!" I finally managed to say.
"I'm so sorry....your safe here now, Arlathen will take care of it." This was the first time that someone had actually cared about me. Most of the time, people would just give me candy or something and walk off. They always said I was a problem child because I cried a lot. After crying into Senlark for what seemed like forever, I finally managed to collect myself.
"Please don't tell anyone...." I sniffled.
"Don't worry, our little secret" He smiled.
We walked back downstairs, only to be greeted with catastrophe.
"What the hell happened?" I demanded. I saw Jake, lying on the floor with a knife in his chest.
"I'm sorry, Pan..." Arlathen sighed.
"You....you..." tears filled my eyes. Sure, Jake was a bad person, but that didn't stop me from remembering all the good memories I had with him. He was basically the only person who would hang out with me back at home.
