"Wake up my little pumpkin pie." a screechy and loud voice commands as they shook me vigorously. Of all times to wake me up this early, why now?
The shaking had stopped and I started stretching my arms and legs whilst my eyes squinting from the morning light that creeps over the window. I turned my head to the one responsible for ruining my ugly rest and groaned.
What? Of course it's ugly and not beauty because you wake up with dirt in your eyes and extremely haggard which is, ugh, ugly.
He gives a smile messing my hair, "good morning, little pumpkin pie."
"It's London, dad." I hissed and shook his hand from me, fixing my hair. "What is it you want to tell me about?"
"Check the calendar." he responds and I took my phone out under the pillows, and yes I am in deep trouble. I was about to scream but my father got to me first.
"Just get ready, come downstairs after and I have a surprise for you." and he left my room.
I sat at my drawer and had my face against my palms, groaning in anger over myself. Of all days to not set up the alarm myself, why not now? Now that anytime soon there's one thing coming up any minute and ding dong!
I stood up from my spot and hurriedly went inside my bathroom for a quick shower. I turned the shower and little cold droplets sprinkled over my hair reaching towards my body. This is something I can't handle much but I'm in a hurry so I hurriedly covered myself with soap and applied shampoo quickly on my hair. This is completely the worst.
I got out of my room seeing a brunette with jet black hair crossing her arms and also sitting with her legs crossed. This is really scary but of course she won't show because she is inside my home. I mouthed her a sorry and gestured for her to wait and I head towards the kitchen. I see my father, newspaper in hand reading an article as presumed. I made scoffing noises and his head jolted to my direction. I gave a half smile and walked towards him.
"You look the same as usual." he jokes.
I rolled my eyes at him. "What is that surprise, dad?"
His eyes went big and he scrammed out of the kitchen. That was odd. For a man who is at his thirties, he sure could run fast. He sprang out all of a sudden and in hand is what I was curious of. He handed the box to me. I gave him questioning look.
"Open it."
I looked at the box on my hand. It was wrapped in yellow colored paper and some doodles with a red ribbon to match it. I opened it slowly and again he gives me such unnecessary things.
"Seriously dad? A Polaroid camera?"
"Shouldn't be thankong me instead." he retorted.
I rolled my eyes at him again. "Thanks dad.", I said and went to see a bored as bloody hell brunette. She eyed me and stood up from the couch, heading out the door. I followed her and went inside her car.
"What happened with your dad?" she asks as she started her car's engine.
I shrugged. "Just gave me a gift."
"A unnecessary gift." I added.
She smirked. "What would that had been?"
"A Polaroid camera."
She laughed hysterically out of nowhere while driving. Her head shaking, hands firmly stuck on the car's steering wheel and a laugh that's really loud that I have to cover my ears to save them from numbness. Now this is her, the real her-- Lady Katherine Shin.
I know, her name is inappropriate for her behaviour.
"Please stop that, we might get into an accident, Lady." she stopped and groaned with a disgusted look. I light-heartedly chuckled at her actions.
"Of all names, why Lady?" she grumbled and more gibberish has came out of her mouth; the badmouthing and nonsense topics. I sat quietly and just waited for her to calm down, I know she needed that because bipolar people are like that.
///
Stepping out from the car, right in front of us, very different people. It seems rather scary to mess with any of them but it's not like I give a damn about it. Finally, Katherine stepped out with a happy-go-lucky atmosphere radiating over her. Bipolar, tsk. I followed her towards the entrance gate and wow-- flashy people.
This is indeed really Waldensen High School. The prestigious school for flashy different unique people-- jocks, beauty queens, eccentric, loner, nerds, couples, norms, weirdos and even the loud ones.
You name 'em, they're all here. Katherine covers her mouth with her wide set eyes even wider which made me laugh a little. I look at her pointing to somewhere, I followed her pointing finger and I too, had my eyes open wide with my mouth agape.
Someone not far from us with arms folded on her breast, leaning against the tree trunk and with a very menacing look with brown hair reaching towards her back. A black Chanel purse on hand, wearing black 3 inches wedge and statement shirt paired with ripped jeggings to go with it. How are we going to compete with that, I mean, how am I going to pull that off because my friend beside me right now wearing white with red linings converse, paired with black knee-length shorts and a black sleeves and white v-neck shirt. These people are different from me.
The girl with brown hair walks towards us and gives us both a tight-gripping hug. I couldn't breathe I swear and I think Katherine does feel the same too. She then breaks the hugging moment and gave us a wide smile.
"How was your summer, London and Katherine?" she asks as she teased some of her hair.
I tucked some pieces of blonde bangs behind my ear and Katherine slaps the girl at the back and it resonated sound I could hear, that has got to hurt.
"Cassie you idiot! What happened to you?" she asks and some look our way, I face palmed.
Cassie batted her eyes at Katherine and sighs. "I just got my contacts and had to become pretty at the very least during summer and you hadn't change a bit, Lady." she said while confidently smiling and Katherine had a grimaced look on her face.
Cassie looks my way and smiles. "Your blonde hair has grown long."
"As if it'll shrink back to being short.", I answered, "Your height hasn't change a bit."
That retort made her flinch and I chuckled while Katherine laughs herself falling on the grass. People had to stop dead on their tracks and whispered between each other what they're witnessing: THE THREE LOUD PEOPLE.
Again I face palmed, Cassie fixed herself up and there still lying on the grass, was a laughing Katherine. What has come to our first day-- oh my gosh!
First day, first impressions. Crumpled like paper.
"Attention to all freshmen, please come at the auditorium for the opening ceremony. Thank you." the speaker heard crystal clear and everyone scurried to where the auditorium is, where in our case, we don't know.
Finally standing, Katherine goes to a cool and laid back boy with brpwn locks of hair. They conversed for a bit and she came back laughing nervously. I raise a brow and so did Cassie.
"Who was that?" I ask.
She shrugged "have no clue, just asked him where that auditorium is."
"Where is it then?" Cassie asks
"No clue as well, he's one of us too."
"Crap! Seriously and we have to search for the auditorium in this huge school!" Cassie says in a pissed off tone.
"But we have maps, I mean, the school map...for newbies..." I trailed off.
"Did you bring it with you?" Katherine asks nervously jumping up and about.
I nodded and took out the map from my bag and we set off to our mini adventure. This is going to be another loud and distracting walk and we're running out of time, I assume.
Hello first day.
